Question on Factory Sealed DS game

I was wondering if all DS games were sealed the same way with the folded plastic.  Just like Disc based games or were some factory sealed with shrink wrap.  I've gotten two Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows now that are both sealed with just shrink wrap and im not sure if they are legit or not.  Can anyone help.  Also i wanted to get it graded.  Will it be accepted?

Edit:  It has the pin holes in the plastic

  • No, DS seals are all over the place. Some are Y-folds and some are just a straight line seam. I actually think this title might have come both ways, though someone else would have to verify to be 100% certain.
  • The only shrink wrap sealed DS games I've come across were some Air Traffic Chaos' in a Best Buy bargain bin, and a resealed fraudulent Rhapsody copy some jackass on ebay sold me. I don't know enough about the DS to say if Jone's right or wrong. Just giving my experience with the 50 or so DS games I own and bought new. Anyone with a plethora of DS knowledge please chime in as I would like to know as well. Thanks!
  • The only ones I've seen sealed like you describe were store reseals, or games released in Canada with a French manual added into the back. Sometimes the game is still sealed under the shrink (just wrapped over for the French manual that nobody outside of Quebec needs), sometimes not. They put it on the outside of the box because the back page of the manual shows the back of the box, but redone so that it's in both English and French. Basically, something like that would be considered new, but it's likely not a factory seal.
  • From my understanding, ALL Konami and MOST, if not ALL Capcom titles come shrinkwrapped. There should be 3 seams, one on each side and one on the bottom. There are probably a couple more companies that do it also. I hate shinkwrapped, plastic-case games. The wrap damages too easily.

EDIT....and so, yeah, Castlevania by Konami sealed in shrinkwrap = factory seal

  • About the only titles I can speak for are most of the Square Enix titles... Of those, most of them are the standard Y-fold seal, but it seems Dragon Quest IV exists both in a Y-fold seal and a straight-line seal (I have 2 sealed copies, one each way).
  • Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow is most commonly found shrinkwrapped...I have a y-fold copy but I don't think they're easy to find at all.
  • i see a vga 90 on ebay that shrink wrap. One of mine is definitely legit shrink wrap the other is reseal. If anyone has a y fold seal they wanna trade, ill trade my shrink wrap version plus something else for the y fold
