N64 powerpak (can it be done? by bunnyboy?)

I want to know if bunnyboy has expressed any interest in making a N64 powerpak. I'm aware that there's a N64 flashcart available, but according to a reviewer it is cheaply done, and has strong compatibility issues (and has limited capacity).

I also want to know if it's possible to make the NES Powerpak save highscores. As many of you know, in games that keep scores, even if you press reset, the high score remains. In games with continue options from the title screen, you can continue even after pressing reset. I dunno, just wondering.

  • I know there is at least one N64 flashcart being worked on at the moment. It is being made by marshallh from http://www.retroactive.be/ He has some youtube videos of it in action, but updates seem to be slow coming.

I couldn't tell you for sure about the NES Powerpak, but I'm going to say that it COULD be possible. There is someone who is developing updates for the powerpak to implement a sort of "savestates" option. If this is possible, then I don't see why they couldn't write a "savestate" to a file on the powerpak upon holding the reset button. That would be cool though!
  • How cool would that be? I think if I ever get a power pak it would be for the 64...Not a huge emulator fan...but that would be the generation I would want to get into..
