  • Just curious, and this would affect the value somewhat...is this system just tab-modded (as in just the tabs cut from inside the cartridge slot) or is it hard-modded (as in someone actually went in there and wired up switches for region codes and 50 Hz/60 Hz)? A tab-modded system isn't worth any more than a normal SNES, I'm afraid ($30-$40 or so). A hard-modded system can net as much as $80+ to the right buyer. I nearly snagged jeffg's when he was selling his for $90, if that's any indicator.

It's hard modded. I don't know exactly how (since 90% of the consoles are already sold with modchips in Brazil) but the tabs are still on my console. Thanks for the info mb7241!! =)
My collection is a mess. I have:

    Pirates:

    Japanese originals:

    American originals:

and the modded console runs perfectly all those carts. I also have Brazilian originals - but I guess Brazilian games also works on unmodded US, Mexico and Canada consoles.

  • Yeah... my SNES is just like that too.

It refuses to play SFA2 and plays pirates, japanese originals, american originals, PAL games.

I so want to get an unmodded one. x.x
  • Wow, nice set. I keep looking for one myself. The modding means nothing to me though.
