Question on Nintendo Power #173

I saw this on eBay and noticed the prices on this issue. Why so much for it? Just because of that PokeMon card that's in it? If that's the case then I have one that is sealed and has the card in it.

I'm guessing the ticket is exactly why those people are trying to sell it for so much money.  While individual sellers may try to capitalize on such silly promos to garner sales, you don't see any individual issue purchased for that price in recent history.  Also, if you look in the auctions of lots, you'll see that it's really easy to come by.

So hopefully you can see that this issue really isn't worth anything special.  What you see is just an artificially inflated value by some sellers who are trying to capitalize on the Pokemon namebrand.
