Am I getting a good deal on this lot of NES games?

I have a chance to buy roughly 250 NES games complete with everything (boxes, styrofoam insert, any other items that came with the game except the original manuals).  These are from an old video game store that is going out of business and somehow still has tons of original NES games.  I wondering if I paid somewhere around $300 for the entire collection would I be getting a good deal, and if I grew tired of having all the games would I be able to sell them for more on ebay.  Thanks in advance for all of your advice!!

  • yes that is an amazing deal. it comes to $1.20 a game, you can easily make that back.
  • Ya, you could sell them all to me for $2.00 a game!

Also, this should probably be in Price Check.

  • id probaly buy them off of you for 3 a game
  • topic moved, good deal go get em tiger
  • Sorry about posting in the wrong place. Thanks for all the amazingly fast replies. I'll probably go pick them up this week. I wish they came with the manuals, does that make much of a difference on the value? From what I can tell they photocopied the manuals, then put everything back in the box and sealed them up, maybe they have the manuals sitting around somewhere. The boxes are all in really good shape.
  • I would pay $300 for that lot if it was cart only, so if they have boxes thats a plus! Too bad about the manuals, but I wouldn't say its a deal breaker.
  • Ya dude run and go and get them now.
  • The manuals definitely help and you definitely want to ask and see if they have them lying around. A CIB game is worth much more than a CB game in most cases.
  • ask if they have the original manuals in the back. I bought a bunch of old games at a video store who photocopied there manuals and saved the original manuals and maps. Therefore, they were in mint condition. I bet they have them somewhere.
  • They might have them, they might not. I bought a bunch of games from a store like that and although they didn't have the manuals on the older stuff, some of the '93-and-later releases did have them. Most were roughed up, but the mint boxes made up for them. Plus, with older games the manuals tend to be more common than the boxes, and the later releases the boxes are easier to find (but overall still tougher to find due to the late release). Joe is right in that a boxed game sells for less than a CIB, but I have a feeling you'd be able to snag a ton of the manuals for a buck each or even less and piece them together. Obviously this isn't the case with ALL manuals, but definitely holds true for a good chunk of the library. In other words, I'd buy them...you'd be able to turn a profit with or without the manuals, and I'm betting it'll be a hell of a lot of fun playing through some of the games image
  • Thanks again for all the advice, I already went once and paid about 4 bucks a game a picked out the ones I either wanted to play or knew were at least fairly valuable. I got Princess Tomato, Double Dragon/Battletoads, and then some other games that I wanted to play. I think they have about 65 N64 games if anyone is interested, I'm guessing about 2 a game, not sure though. I know there aren't any Mario games in that bunch however.
  • Hells ya!

I would even go higher then that
