Let's answer this in a better way - If only 2 copies of a game exist, one sealed 7/10, or one mint 10/10, which would you own?
Personally, I would want the Mint copy. Just because it has a layer of plastic over it, doesn't mean its the holy grail.
However, if the above was not the case, and real rarities and values come into play, my answer would change. If I had a choice between a mint CIB SE, or a sealed SE 7/10, Id take the sealed, sell it, then offer a bounty for a Mint one, then take the extra cash generated to buy some more minty CIB goodness
Thing is, if a 7/10 sealed copy is only 7/10 due to damage to the seal itself and not the box, isn't it more worth it to take the sealed copy and open it, thus turning it into a 9/10+ CIB? You don't lose "value" and it's easier to sell a mint CIB for market prices than a sealed game with damage to the plastic. Just a thought...
And no, I didn't fail math, I just rarely pay market prices for a sealed game, and when I do it doesn't stay sealed for long. Stinger was the exception, not the rule

Depends on the game.
You're a smart man.

Let's hear some examples.
If I had a loose copy, then sealed. Otherwise I'd go CIB. These games need to be played!

CIB
I'd like to play the game on my nes!
sealed.
If you answered CIB, you failed math.
I've never understood the appeal of a sealed game if it isn't mint. May as well open it and enjoy it. I'd rather take the mint one personally.
I think it depends on why you collect sealed.
If youre doing it for the prettiest copy you can get, then yes you are correct.
If you collect to have a untouched virgin, then all virgins don't have to be pretty, I mean look at Tusk
sealed.

Really? Perfect dark for 64 i dont see a difference?
