NES Rom questions.

I know this was listed ages ago and I cant find the topic. Either way. What do the endings on roms mean. I remember that a certain ending meant that a rom was tested and working or something. Inevitably my goal is to just add a full ntsc set on my Powerpak. I just dont know if the roms i would have or download would work.

For example.

(J) = Japanese

(Unl) = Unlicensed

and so on.

By all means if someone has these roms already on their powerpak I would gladly accept a download form you : ). If anyone can help let me know

  • The codes are from running a program called GoodNES that renames ROMs, tries to fix iNES headers, etc. I don't know all the codes offhand, but you can download the software and I believe it tells you what the codes are in the readme file.
  • Kewl, thanks for asking, I knew what some of those were, but a lot of them I had no clue on.
  • A few rom sites will give you the rundown on what they mean, I would give you a link, but... you can guess
  • Its been a very long time since GoodNES was updated.
