Question about VGA acrylic NES cases...

I would assume that you could bend the hangtab to fit, but would that be a good idea? Could it cause damage?

  • The hangtabs bend over the top flap of the game nicely and there is no fear of damage in the cases.
  • You can bend the plastic hangers no problem.  But if they are the older seam style hangers, they may get weak along the spine and eventualy break if you fold them too much.  If they are the newer preferated ones, then I never noticed much weakening.   Just don't shove them too hard inside the acyrlic case to avoid any potential cardboard imprints from the hanger pressing against the box.  I stored many of my games in these cases this way until I eventually had them graded.

  • I just take the tabs off image. They remove very easily. You just have to do it like a band-aid - quicker is better image.

Oooh, I'd be way to worried. If I had a couple cheaper games I'd try it, but I don't yet. image

About how many times out of ten does this FAIL?  I haven't tried it, but I have a sealed game where someone did fail,  probably the person that sold it to me cheap.  I am of the mindset to leave it original with the hangtab if it had one.  But to each his own I suppose.  I agree it looks cleaner without it.
  • I've got a stack of about 50 hangtabs sitting on my shelf that says "No problems here!".

I tried this on some cheap games (like $5 value sealed) before I moved up to my more expensive games, and that's how I figured out you have to do it quickly. I had one of the inexpensive game's shrink pull ever so slightly (not tear), but after that, I haven't had one problem. Not even kidding, I have like 50 of these I've taken off with no effort.
