-1, REV-A, and PRG1
I spent some time digging through the board archives today but couldn't find direct explanations of these. Would someone please explain the meaning of these to us commoners?
I gather from other posts that the -1, -2, and on indicate some revision to a printed material (box, manual, cart label, poster).
I'm also aware that PRG 0, 1, ? refers to a change in code as indicated by the printing on the chips themselves. Are there any games that have PRG 2 or higher numbers?
I have no idea what REV-A is. I notice some games have a non-REV-A version (no text) while others seems to start at REV-A. Are there games with REV-B, -C, and so on?
Are these codings directly linked with each other in a meaningful way?
Also, I hate you all for bringing these things to my attention and making me obsessive about having the right cart with the right box and the right manual and the 2nd printing of a warranty card and the fourth printing of a poster and the additional projection tv insert warning.

So a quick scenario would be if you have a box marked NES-AA-1, and then they made a color adjustment they might label it as NES-AA-1 as a part number and also have REV-A. Say they re-release the game in a new box, then I believe they would label it as NES-AA-2 since it is a different part all together and not a revision of the previous.
I could be wrong. If so, someone please correct me.
