I would love to see a SegaAge.com site come to fruition. I think that it could lure other people that follow just Sega over to NintendoAge. I would be more than happy to help with the site, becasue as I want a good US run Sega website that has the same feel as NA.
Looks like the masses have spoken! Get her running, looks like you will have penty of help from us NA'ers...should be a good time. Maybe a few past MOD's would hop on to make it another greatly run site.
Are there going to be 2 member databases ? Or 1 for the two ? It would be sweet if we could log in with our login from NA.
This part is already done -- you'll only need 1 login for both sites, but your forum account will be separate in that your post count on one site would not be the same on the other. Right now the way it works is that if you login to SegaAge with your NA username/password then visit the forums, it'll link your accounts (and create a new SA forum account for you). The user directory will be integrated, but it'll tell you which site (or both) that user resides on and visits most frequently. Same with PMs -- you can PM a user from SegaAge on NintendoAge; same with transactions. There's a good reason for this down the road.

Wow, that is crazy. I can't wait for it to be fully up and running. I almost have just as large of a Sega collection as a Nintendo collection.
I always was a Nintendo person, but I'll always be a Video Game person at heart. You got to admit there's great games on both sides of the battlefield.
My Sega collections are rather modest (Well, my Genesis collection is probably close to my SNES collection...obviously nowhere near my NES, though), but I'd definitely use SegaAge plenty.
I have an OK Sega collection spanning multiple consoles. In fact I just need a Dreamcast and a Game Gear and I will have all of the main consoles. I also have quite a few games for Genesis, and a few for CD, Master, 32x, and Saturn. Some of my favorite games are on the Genesis!
I have a strong feeling that >90% of the people on SegaAge would be people who are already members here at NA, and NA is good people, so it sounds like a good time to me.
^While this is certainly true, I'd be curious to see how the two communities overlap in categories like "Everything Else". Might be slightly redundant at times?
I have about a 150 genesis games. It would be nice to have a comprehensive database for that collection as well. I'm more of a nes fan but the whole idea is very interesting.
I googled sonyage and microsoftage. Are they in the works somewhere down the line? Or I'm I really dorking out at the possibly?
I would hope they would at least go with PlaystationAge, and XboxAge. Their brand names would be misleading, and not inform you it's a gaming site. When I was a kid, the "Sega" was really a Genesis, and the "Nintendo" was the NES, so I think those names still fit.
I think it is very smart to own that name, if just for the fact you can say nope. You can't have it. That would just be to much of riding the coat tails. You guys have worked your asses off to make this site what it is. The Best. Was atari age first never thought about this? hmmmm......
I think it would be a good idea if Dain or one of the mods took over Segaage? Well that is spelled weird...anyway...it would be really cool to have (another) sister site, but this time one that more closely resembles NA. Would be easy to visit and navigate the two sites, if they were the same. Somebody should do it..there are plenty of fans of the retro era that would partake in both... I however will stay with NA more than AA or SA...
I am all for helping run it just say the word Daino
But I think setting it up will take time that Dain doesn't have and other things that need to happen first.
Well I would say that I would definetly vote a 2nd for Scott. I've always found him to be super professional in everything he does and a great guy all around. If it ever does become reality I vote myself to be KING or maybe DICTATOR or whatever title I can get of the Game Gear section.

Why does "US run" matter?

^I never said I would run it!
I'll run it! I grew up on SEGA channel. I even still have the adapter (SHHHHHHHHHHHHH, don't tell my now out-of-business cable company!!!)

If there was a SegaAge, I might have an easier time selling my John Madden Champ edition!
Your price is too high if it isn't moving then, I just sold a CIB on eBay for much less than that last week.

Well, I meant that it would be easier to sell it in place with specifically Sega collectors, but yeah, you're right. It was pretty high. Thanks
