I heard no one collects Sega, so it's going to flop. I'll take the hit though, so if you want to sell me your boxed games for like $0.50 a piece, I'll buy them. =P
Twitter page says he's just about to launch. That was on the 27th. It seems like he's messing around with it now cause you can't click on his name and there is a funky icon next to his shit! I wonder why there hasn't really been any talk about this if he is so close to launch time?
It's gonna be sweet to just have a look around and change up my collection tool. I've been meaning to update the current one and I can kill two birds with one stone.
It would make sense to promote it in the ezine on the 1st, true.
Yeah, I'm thinking the launch will coincide with a promotional ezine article...or it may not, who knows. Kinda pointless to advertise to the people that already know it's in the works
Last night I had a dream that SegaAge was released. Now the shenanigans with Dain's name... I have a feeling that SA will soon be unleashed upon us like a pack of wolves carrying a ton of dynamite filled with napalm.
no one collects sega? most gamers these days dont know there roots. it's like being a poser of liking something n not knowing the history of gaming. sure u see Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo dominateing the market for handhelds n consoles hardware. w/ out Nintendo making some flops, and Philips. Sony wouldn't be ahead of the hardware wars, granted they r still giving there consoles away. Microsoft just has the money to throw in the wind in the hopes there electronic engineers would make something good from all the mistakes they make w every software release. two newer companies in the game n they are loosing money because they don't know what they r ucking doing as far as there hardware. being able to last more then a year or two. I do wish Sega realizes they could throw a curve ball between the next two consoles to kill Sony n Microsoft off. Sega did uck themselves w the bad legal troubles they pursued inside n out of the court room and not locking there media from being pirated. but whose to predict the consumer market elsewhere where a company is concentrating on there own plans n research to put on the market themselves (pertaining to the cd burners that were out at those days).
its funny how social media is at a boom, when studies say 80's of posts r neglected n never really read.
I would love to see the site become active... Sega had some amazing games, many of them near perfect arcade conversions. Many ideas were way ahead of their time, like 3d games for the master system. 3D is now just becoming popular at home and in the movies. Sega did amazingly well in other countries compared to the US.
I collect SEGA more than Nintendo. I would love to have a SEGA site like this one with a data base where you can add the games to your own personal lists. Would be a lot more easy to try and get complete libraries as you would know what you still have to look out for.
Sega does comes out with a new system. I'm so getting one.
I can hardly wait. I really love the consolewar and it is not the same anymore since the year of 2001 when the contest were limited to 3 systems. The 70's, 80's and 90's were more exciting and hopefully, that will return some day but then there has to be more systems than just 3
I googled sonyage and microsoftage. Are they in the works somewhere down the line? Or I'm I really dorking out at the possibly?
I would hope they would at least go with PlaystationAge, and XboxAge. Their brand names would be misleading, and not inform you it's a gaming site. When I was a kid, the "Sega" was really a Genesis, and the "Nintendo" was the NES, so I think those names still fit.
I hope they just say SonyAge cuase that would make my MSX Hit-Bit homecomputers on-topic in that site rather than if the name was just PlaystationAge, just like there should be a PanasonicAge for discussing the 3DO and MSX TurboR

We just can't have enough websites called something with age, right? :-)
That would be funny to see but then one got to compete with other commodore and philips sites that are already established

SegaAge will be a clone site of NA, with changed theme, logo, and obviously systems. Other than that, it will be an exact copy of NA. When one gets updated, so will the other (code fixes, etc).
It will be very interesting to see that site when it is finnished

There are a few sega forums on the net, but none are very good. It would be nice to have a true database. Personally, I love the genesis, but I love the NES more. Can't there be room for both systems though? Sega always had great games and innovative equipment, they just had miserable management and marketing. You guys ought to let up on sega a bit; after all, atariage preceded nintendoage. Hell, the name came from their 1980s magazine for god's sake. Can't there be room on the net for segaage as well?
Offcourse it can

I think SegaAge would be a fantastic idea. Especially if it had a system setup like this one because there are no good lists out there to tick & flick off. guardiana.net has a great database but it's not overly user-friendly. Plus it's predominately French which sucks donkey balls.
Otherwise there is a community called Sega16 that seems to be userfriendly. I have not been there so much though, cause I dont collect so much of their brand. Only owns a Master System for the moment
Pretty much all the NEC fans are at PCEngineFX.com
Obviously with only two real console platforms (Turbo/PCE/SuperGrafx) and the PC-FX there isn't as much of a legacy of different systems and what not to cover.
It would make sense to promote it in the ezine on the 1st, true.
Think how sweet it would be if we had ONE E-zine for both sites. I know I would love to read what Sega experts have to share about their passion. And think how much easier it would be to get content to have a "consistent" monthly magazine.

If sega was to come out with a new system, they would have to indeed learn from their mistakes of marketing.
And not let the Dreamcast incident happen again. I remember the day I found out you can just burn the games.
There.....happy now Scott?
I'm betting it's gonna launch on the first...
It would make sense to promote it in the ezine on the 1st, true.

Thanks Dain for the hard work on it.
Can't wait.
Anyone interested in doing a contest like Nesruler's? I'm going to be picking up one of these soon: http://www.krikzz.com/index.html
Can't wait.
Is that how it looks when you get it? They could have at least put a case on it with a opening for the card!

You can buy them complete with case at stoneagegamer.com , but it's super easy to take a shitty sports game, and Dremmel a hole out.

Oh ok phew. I was about to be real sad
It is enough if he just owns the site

Well, "world," the other highly original suffix, was taken already
That, and if you say it correctly, "SA" sounds like how I call my homies, ese.
