Weirdest collecting story?

For me, I went to a mon n pop back in Tennessee when I lived there and all their stuff was overpriced. Went back a week later on a whim and they were closed down, turns out all their stuff was stolen property

  • lol!! That's awesome!!
  • Well, aside from their crime, I'd say 'mom n pop' deserved it for having no common sense. If you need to unload some stolen goods, price it to sell, don't overprice it! sheesh.
(seriously, as a collector I think I despise price gauging more than theft) image
  • So they "fell off the back of a truck" then? Lol, "Buy" low and sell high, I guess! lol.
  • My weirdest collecting story is that one time I bought a rather expensive game from a dude that lived in BFE Tennessee. I drove to Atlanta (with cash) to meet up with him, trade, have lunch at Applebees, and swap stories. Looking back, it more than likely wasn't the smartest move, but it all worked out. He was kinda tall, funny lookin', and drove an Orange VW Bug...? But, I have a cool game. image

With Price gauging you have a choice, with theft, you have none.  If idiots are paying I have no problem with price gauging, it's their own lazy fault for not researching and waiting for a better deal. You can charge whatever you want for stuff you sell, that's called free enterprise.  People pay more than they make in a year for a brand new car, or they will trade in a car for 1/5th of what a used dealer will turn around and sell it for. People are just plain stupid all the way around.
