  • Yeah i do where i live in canada but you get the odd one at a garage sale or thrift store
  • its driving me mad N64 and gameboy games i can find but no nes

  • dude where I live in upstate NY, the resellers are scavengers, and the NES games in the wild are rare as it is. Literally, the last time I saw NES games in the wild was multiple years ago, when I got an NES with 2 controllers and a zapper (controllers felt barely used - the A and B buttons still had the clicky feeling!), Mario 2, Skate or Die, and Milon's Secret Castle, all CIB, for $25. That is not counting when I visit the junk shop that sells old games for $4/pc no matter what it is. There's always a box of Atari and NES there, but the NES selection sucks, and I know NOTHING about Atari. I did manage to pick up a complete Shadowrun for Genesis for the standard $4 price there recently. But dude, I totally feel you on that. I go to tons of garage sales with my hopes up, and I never see any NES.
  • Same here. Some regions just have highly dedicated resellers/scavengers with more time/resources then your average collector.
  • Truth is NES was never all that popular in UK so you are not going to find all that much in the wild. Around about 2000/2001 a local cash converters had a box of NES games priced about £3-4 each. One day I walked in and they were reduced to £1 each. The guy there told me they were just trying to get rid of them and once they did they wouldn't be buying any more. I walked out with 20 games for £20 that day which was nice but haven't seen NES games in Cash Converters since. I think if someone tried to sell NES games in there they would be turned away, not sure if that is policy at all cash converters.

Anyway I only know 2 places that sell NES games, an indepenent game shop and a flea market stall, both of which are more expensive than Ebay. Although I did find Action 52 for £7 at the flea. I spend quite a lot of time in charity shops and see a bit of master system and meagadrive, but never nes (or snes for that matter).
  • There was only around 278 official releases in the UK so it doesn't surprise me the games aren't all that common in shops, car boots etc Shame as I'm always keeping an eye out for them without success image
  • i know its shit here, i keep dreaming of finding an untouched NES haven in someones loft
  • Yup, fellow UK collector here who also has little luck finding stuff in the wild.

My local Cash Convertors has 2 unboxed nes games in it - Star Wars and super Mario 3 that they're trying to shift for £3.99 each. Ha! Good luck to 'em.

A CEX shop in Wales had about five games - Darkwing Duck, Joe & Mac (& some others I forget but were common) for £3-4 each (very tatty condition). They also had a gold Zelda 2 (cart only) for £40. Total rip off, but somebody went and bought them because a week later they were gone.
