For $100 more, I can get a set of ~130 boxed SEGA games.  Not terrible, but not in my budget at the moment.
  • I went to a yard sale recently and this lady had a nice lot. She wanted I think $150 for everything and refused to sell me just one or two games, which sucks. She had the Tengen Tetris. I'm pretty sure I could of made a lot of the money back if I bought the lot, but I was broke that week..

That's not the worst. There is a gigantic thrift store in my area who is always over priced. They had a colecovision for $200 with a couple of games.

I really HATE when people put insane price tags on things and are ultra stubborn about it. Is it mental illness, greed? The best thing to do I guess, is just walk away and laugh at the fact they will NEVER sell what they have for that price (hopefully).
  • Oh yeah, there is another goodwill near me that has carts every now and then. They do something that pisses me off though. They put a standard price of $5 on every one of them. Not bad if they get a Mega Man 1 or something like that. But it sucks when it's a common cart worth much less, but you want it anyway.

I noticed since this craze in the press, people have made their prices on these games higher.
  • I see this all the time around here, which is why i never post any local finds. everyone thinks there stuff is worth a fortune, even at yard sales the prices are insane.
  • I have actually laughed in people's faces and told them to put it on Ebay after they threatened to do so.
  • a few weeks back i was at a goodwill. they had a handful overpriced nes carts at 10 bucks a pop. right next to it was a factory sealed double dragon II for 4 dollars. i laughed and i laughed.

I don't know.  Looking through the NA list, I think $5 for a common cart is "Okay" if you compare it to buying the game off the internet.  People charge too much for shipping and handling, and at least you can see the condition of the cart in front of you instead of hoping the seller had decent pictures.
  • You should take your NES and offer to sell it to her for only $150.
  • Reminds me of a local store that just opened up here in town.  Took a visit this weekend and GOOD LORD you should have seen the prices.  Just as an example, they had a disgusting looking (tears, writing on labels, etc) Shining Force 2, cart only, for $79.99.  I had to refrain while in the store but had to let loose a "You've got to be kidding me" as I was exiting the store.  It's a shame because they had quite a bit of inventory but I can't imagine that they will stay in business for very long with the price gouging they are attempting.
  • At my local store they want $40.00 for CV3, I literally laughed out loud when I saw that. Other Hilarious/sad prices include:

Super Mario Bros/ Duck Hunt $10

    Castlevania 1 $25

    Bible Adventures $15

    10 Yard Fight $7

    Dr. Mario $15

  • I thought my store was bad, they have Mario Bros 3 cart only for $49.99, been there for years. I chuckle loudly every time I see it. Very rarely you can find a good deal. Another good one is they have Ninja Gaiden 1 for $33.99 but then next to it is Mighty Final Fight for $15.99, still can't find the sense in that one.
