OMG NINTEDNO 64!!!! FOR 10 BUCKS!

holly shit i feel like the N64 kid right now!
after some sniffing around a value village in my area i came across an n64 w/o the power pak or av cables or jumper pak for 10 bucks which wasn't that bad because i had the power pak at home. and the jumper pak and cables set me back only 10 bucks so in all i think i made one hell of a find.

n64 systems are pretty hard to sell, the controllers are worth more.

  • perhaps this could have been in the 'small finds' thread?

this is what I see as well.  An original Nintendo N64 controller with a solid joystick sells for the same as a console.  The controller is worth more then a console if its colored in most cases.
  • -.- im still new to collecting guys. i don't have a full price guide. so thank you for bearing with me as i get my sea legs...so to speak.
  • I actually enjoy this thread, because it reminds me of when I was a new collector. If you are just getting into that retro kick and want to play your favorite console, $10 is a hell of a bargain.
  • I agree Ryan, just keep with it. $10 is okay, but still a good deal if you want that retro feeling image Being new to collecting, prices, rarities, things to look for is all so overwhelming you dont know what is a good deal or not. Just keep at it, there are times you are going to pass on a rare game and not realize it. Its how we learn, and you are still in that learning experience image Glad you are having fun collecting though, and if you ever need any help, let me know image
  • Congrats man. Also, is "value village" like a flea market or somethin?

It's the Canadian version of Goodwill.
  • value village is here in the states too so it's not just in canada
  • I <3 Value Village. I go like 2 or 3 times a week <img src="/media/_images/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">
  • Very cool, now start collecting those CIBs! image
  • ^Yep. However, decide EARLY ON if you want to collect CIB's. Don't do like I did and get 150+ games in and then decide to go CIB. It's a pain in the ass sometimes, but fun nonetheless.

pretty sure it's not affiliated with goodwill... but maybe you were just saying it's LIKE goodwill, which it is.

also, if you ever come across a savers, that's part of the value village chain. here in az, they are called savers.
  • nothing wrong with $10 sirimage
  • Hate to rain on your parade, but I got mine....FREE. Some lady was cleaning out her newly purchased house and I asked if she was having a yard sale. She told me no, she was just throwing stuff out. I asked her if she had any Nintendo stuff and she went inside and came out with a N64 with all the hook-ups and said "take it".
  • Hey, everybody's gotta start somewhere. I mean, most people would laugh at my meager collection, let alone findings.
  • Seems like a fair shake to me, what's ten dollars anyway? I wish my Goodwill had anything decent, I check there all the time and I've yet to find VG related stuff.

Same here. Are all Goodwills in California like this?
  • Well. it wasn't Good will. the good wills in my area only sell the pc flight sticks and the ps1 stearing wheels that noone wants. i'll eventually find a ps1 console which is ok but i din't need another one. ihave both newschool and old school. but my oldschool needs some new screws because im planning on custom painting mine.
  • ya goodwills great i got a N64 with 9 games(mostly racers) and 3 controllers dirt cheap there

I live in California & my Goodwill's have been good (not all of them just a few). That's where I picked up Mega Man 6 that I posted in the small scores thread.

that's a nice find, man. it's the only one from the series i haven't played through and don't have. i'm guessing you payed 2-4 bucks and it usually goes for at least 20 on amazon.

For the most part it seems they are.  Whenever one has something its always a NES open golf or Duck Hunt for $10.
  • Hey, I think this is still a pretty solid find. Most people want $20+ for the console itself around my parts. I don't think it was the "steal of the century", but you definitely paid a good price.
  • I would have picked it up for $10, but I sell them for $25 locally all day long if I had them. You might want to start a thread for all your scores or post in the small score thread.
