Garage sale find
I saw an ad for a rummage sale on Craigslist that said NES games so I decided to hit it on Friday. I walked into his garage and instantly saw the display case (kinda hard to miss)! It said make an offer, so I asked him what he was looking at getting for it because I figured he wanted a lot. He said if he didn't get what he wanted, he would just keep it. So, long story short, I called him yesterday and said I'd take it and we went and picked it up today. It is not in perfect shape, but I don't think I will find one again locally. And I think I might have paid a little much for it, but I think it is awesome and I have the room for it. I plan on getting some glass shelves or something for it and throwing some of my games in it. The Nintendo Power shirt was $2. Oh, he said when he originally bought the shelf, the guy gave him a skateboard, so he did the same and threw in that sweet board!
Edit: Added a service number picture
Edit - I found bunnyboy's link with lots of info:

Anybody know the story on these things? Did they just hold games or were they filled with systems and other accesories for sale?
They held everything from systems to games to accessories. Got to Lowes or Home Depot and buy yourself some peg board shelves to put in. THOUGH your particular case is missing its bottom half, sadly. Happens all the time because they were two separate pieces. So also if I were you I would find a way to get it to sit up higher. Nice find.
Do you have a picture of the bottom half? Maybe I can get someone to make something close, or maybe make something custom with drawers in the bottom or something. I thought it looked kinda short! Thanks for the info.
Really, they are worth the price man, congrats!
Holy crap, I had that exacty same style skateboard when I was a kid. It's still in my parent's basement.
I tried to ride it, but I think I'm out of it's weight class. The thing bent as soon as I stepped on it! That means no halfpipes for me!
Sorry about the fuzzy pic.
Imagine all the kids that use to stand in front of these cases and drool over what was inside!
