pickins getting slim

well i hit 2 city wide yard sales today. probally a total of 200 different yard sales. found very few gaming stuff. one sale a n64 with a few games .one sale 4 colecovision games. one sale 5 gamecube games. and a fourth a few playstation one games. other than that i only saw some ps2 games at 4 other sales and that was it. so out of over 200 sales only 8 had video gaming stuff. so pickins around here are getting slim. i havent seen any atari stuff in years so i guess the well is going dry

  • i have noticed this trend as well in wisconsin. im not seeing as much gaming stuff a garage sales and thrift stores.time to start going to flea markets
  • collectors are growing! but just today found a dw and dw4 for $7 at a random antique shop...just have to look harder now i guessimage
  • We haven't been having the sales this year like normal. Usually I rely on Craigslist, but some douchebag posted a post telling everyone he is collecting all the old NES and SNES games and literally typed out every game, how much he will pay for them loose, w/ manual or box, CIB, and sealed. Its put a damper on my finds as far as retro stuff.
  • ^^ Holy crap! Somebody did that? That's both genius and douchy as hell. CL & I are on bad terms, lately. I cany stand the flakiness..... or the grammar, lol.
  • there is nothing here in Columbia. The few people that sell, quote EBay prices and don't budge on them.

  • slow here too....is the well dry? not a chance.

so that is a bad thing? so when you are trying to sell stuff you normally price everything way down so the buyer can resell it for a profit?

If you want eBay prices then you can buy your own printer ink, shipping materials, envelopes, pay eBay/paypal fees and postage and drive yourself to the post office.

No one is paying eBay prices at a yard sale unless the buyer is a moron, simple as that.
  • It's been like that in NJ for years. You're better off spending your time towards other things imo.

  • Just gotta keep working harder, bro. Find new ways to attack. And don't forget that the hunt is more fun than the kill. Ask any deer hunter who hasn't got a buck in 10 years but still goes out religiously every year.

I really dont go the fleas and garage sells annymore. I moved farther away from them, so i rather spend my game hunting time surfing NA for fair deals in the comfort of my home.
  • yea, i can never find anything in missouri *sigh*
  • Yea its becoming very dry on cl in my virginia beach aree .. but at least for some odd reason we have a huge abbundance of retro game stores 5 or 6 that sell all there games way below ebay prices.
  • Yard sales around here in Orlando aren't anything too promising. Always selling some weird crap, though.

Yep, there are allot of them now. The swap meet I go to, there has to be at least a dozen or more collectors - not even including the resellers.
