  • Nice poster! I can see why this is getting high bids, very nice item from a very popular series. I have paid more for some posters so this really isnt out of the ordinary for an item like this.

    Good Luck!

    what ?
  • Whaddya mean "what"? CLEARLY people want this because it glowwwwwws!
  • Can't you custom order any poster for like $35?
    You can...

Just go custom order this image on a poster and take a sharper and pretend you're Samus and number it.

Lol, this is insane! But if people are willing to pay that much for a poster, then so be it!

    Congrats to seller!
  • I'm not too surprised at this price. I expected this one to go high, and it's an awesome poster anyways (not to mention it's glow in the dark). I'm just wondering where the other 1,999 are? image
  • It's a high price for a poster, but it doesn't surprise me at all. If an earthbound ruler can go for $700, this really cool poster can go for more than $300. Hell if I was a big metroid collector, I would have easily paid $200 for this, and I'm a cheapo. image

Another NA user messaged me yesterday saying he has one. Dunno what he's planning on doing with it, but they're around image

@ Bournano: You can also play a ROM of Stadium Events. Some people just aren't satisfied with that.

Maybe you can custom order it, so what? Do you collect video games? Most likely. You do know you can just download an immulator and play the games you like to collect on your computer for absoluety no charge right?

Anyways. This is an awesome item, and if I had to few hundred bucks to throw around, I would def be dropping a bid on this. Best of luck to whoever really wants this thing.

  • ^ Good point on reproductions.

But damn was not expecting this to exceed the initial 150 dollar bid nonetheless exceed 300.
  • Cool item, just a bit more than I would want to pay.
  • $350 is my bid
  • Wow, at least a couple of new users have signed up to bid on this. Cool item, good luck OP.
  • Top bid's $350 with about 9 hours to go! Last chance, folks!
  • wow, this is crazy awesome. Just like to point out one thing that was brushed on in the first page. This is the GB Metroid 2 box art, its not altered any more than being flipped. Obviously the art behind the title is a separate piece. If you look at the GB box, you can see that it's zoomed in much closer than on the poster, which means it's a crop of the original. The fact that there are more stars on the poster comes from the fact that the image is cut off on the GB box before they really start on the poster. The lighting difference comes from the difference in contrast between the photo/scan; the scan is a higher quality image than the photo, which results in darker darks and more saturated colors. That's why the poster looks lighter, and why the shadows on the GB box are darker and the sky is more of a saturated blue.  Edit: And we don't know from these pictures alone that the poster is the flipped image; it could very well be that the poster was the original orientation, and they flipped the image for the GB box!  Would be cool information to know for the winner.

All in all, this is such a kickass poster, but I'm not enough of a collector of anything to spent this much on one. Good luck to the bidders, congratulations to the future winner, and I think it's already safe to say congratulations to the seller ^_^ I'll be watching this to the end tonight with popcorn.
  • I'm curious where this auction is getting press. I mean, these new guys that joined for the auction had to have read about it somewhere, right?

I linked it on DigitPress, GameTZ and Videogameauctions. Wanted to get it out on as many enthusiast sites as I could
