Hiostory of finds

A few years back maybe 2003, I picked me up a Stack-up Box, Manual and all the rob components save for the tray to hold them for $20 USD at a time when $20 USD was $30 CAD

Guy had them in a huge auction lot on ebay. I asked him kindly since i could not afford the lot if he would remove them from the lot and charge his winning bidder some amount less for them and offered him 20 thinking i'd get just the parts.

Then he emails me and says I found the box and manual in my closet, no cart sadly but i'm gonna throw those in for free.

I picked up my cart Loose for $21 shortly thereafter.

Recently (July ) I found a local pawn shop selling a top loader for $100 CAD with 2 standard controlers and a Mario Duck hunt. He had the dogbone hanging up to sell seperate. I asked him if i could get the dogbone instead of the two standard controlers. He said he'd drop it to $90 in that case. and when i told him i had no need of SMB/DU he said flip through my cheap $5 bin and find something. So RC Pro Am i got.

  • I also scored a free Gameboy model DMG-01 today from a friend who says if i come to his house to hang out one day he'll give me his gameboy
  • My cousin just dropped off a CIB Dreamcast, CIB Playstation, and loose SNES. The lot also included 8 SNES games and 7 Dreamcast games and 5 Playstation games. All for free.
  • Well that's a nice historical find there on the stack up guts, and then that generous guy with the top loader and the cart and pad swap. My recent history got a boxed (loose w/no books or styrofoam) top loader for $40, and today I got a 2nd pad for another $10 only today too which I think is low(and Adventure Island 3 for $10 too from the same guy.) It's a sturdy great little system to have and that pad is something comfy.
  • One time I found Megaman 5 for the GB at a thrift store and it was .99. When I showed them my student id, they made it .89 and it came with a case! That was an awesome day!
  • That's cool reminds me of 2 weeks ago when I got Mega Man 6 for $1. That really made my morning.
  • I got my NES mm1-4 for $8.99 each from an old video store with boxes, no manuals Save for MM1. which was loose. MM5 was $5 at a pawn shop sold to a dude i went to school with actually and i paid him $10 for it :S. mega man 6 came from said pawn shop at $5.
  • Wow you did a hell of a good job on those at that price big time.
  • I'd like to upgrade my MMs. I only have 1 2 and 3, 1 is super minty cart only, got that for $10 some years back on ebay. MM2 and MM3 were about the same price but in much worse condition. You definitely made out well image
  • I have my original 2 and 3 from all the way back, have the books still too I believe on both(2 for sure.) I recently as I said here hours ago got MM6 and it's nearly minty other than a label snag where it bends over the top. I just am not into the blue guy as much as I used to be, but trust me if I could find 1, 4 and 5 for pretty cheap I sure as hell would nab them.
  • Very nice Stack Up guts! Those are pretty rare.
  • i bought a sealed stack up for $39 in 1989. adjusted for inflation that's $65.32
  • had my mom check my boxes tonight (they are at her house as i never moved them with the collection last time i moved from there.) because i could swear i had the stack-up box but i wasn't sure... and she couldnt spot it in my boxes. I'll take another look at canadian thanksgiving.
