Well Im just updating this thread due to the 1 year anniversary of my original post. Thank you to everyone with all of the positive feedback so far, it has been very inspiring. So with that said, I have a new picture to add.....
It begins again....
( original post )
Finally I am done...
around 5700 pixel blocks and 1.5 months later. this was the all time labour of love and extreme frustration ( still frustrating because I cannot seam to get a good picture....). It all started in the back of a Nintendo Power issue like a year ago. They had made Mega Man and Airman along with some other characters out of pixel blocks. they looked wicked in the light i thought, so about a month and a half ago i finally got 2400 blocks. then I made Mega Man then sadly I found that i ran out of black and most of the blues. so i ordered 4000 more lol. Just kept building after that until this was made. I was inspired by the 25th birthday of the nes and the upcoming 3Ds, so that is why I build it in layers to give it a "3-d" effect. I had always wanted to make a stained glass window since going to europe the first time 4 years ago. Seeing the stain glass windows in cathedrals was my favorite thing to do after a few pints of cider. I custom fit it to the top shelf of my gameshelf. I strung 2 sets of battery power xmas led lights behind it . Pics dont do it justice. heres some of the better ones i guess i have like 100 pics in my photobucket folder.
Well keeping with my sloppy tradition, I am bumping this for its 6th years since creation. I still have this piece sitting on one of my game shelves. I hope to start another one soon. Hope you enjoy.
Just like to add that I am bumping this on my wife's iphone at 8am from Edinburgh Scotland. Having an excellent family vacation. I saw the date and remembered this oddly enough.

Dude. WOW man. Unbelievable.
Very pretty.
Pretty neat stuff. Have you considered making bead sprites?
Pretty cool, i was gonna ask the same thing.
Might try some of these sometime to mess with lighting effects.

I have thousands of beads that I got as a gift. I haven't made anything yet. I prefer pixel blocks for sure

How many blocks did Link take? If you can remember...
I made up "blue prints" for each figure. I can check them as soon as I get home (Nov 1st)

That is not a problem at all. Please just give me some time to find them or make them. Either way it is no bother at all
