Wii classic controller extension?

I hated to make a thread about this...but I couldn't find an answer anywhere.  Is there an extension available for the classic controller?

This cord is ridiculous...

  • I was gonna say no, and that I haven't seen any....but alas, Paul strikes again.
  • nice!!! thanks paul! 3 local gamestops said that no such thing exists, but i just couldn't believe them.
  • Anytime Bill, the tricky part was using a search string on Google that returned something like you were asking about.
  • Those are neat, too bad the plug in the middle is huge. Wonder how hard it would be to rewire it with a new, longer cable.
  • I always thought that controller extentions were a Godsend for my PS2 and Sega Genesis. I'm really suprised that the Wii doesn't have wireless classic controllers, controller extentions are so 2002.

You can never believe anything GameStop says. Their employees know nothing about video games.
  • It's not a huge deal to have a controller extension...I just hate to have the Wiimote basically up my ass while I'm using the classic controller.

The Wii is a really, really fun system and I like it a lot so far. Just wish the library wasn't geared so strongly toward kids/family games. Just quickly browsing, I'd never want to own or play at least 70% of the library, maybe more.
  • You can use gamecube controller extentions if it helps. That's what I have.
  • If you want to use that tiny D pad for retro gaming.. ouch.

I'm sure I'll live and learn!  image
  • So you are saying it won't work? The input is the same so what does the d pad have to do with it? You should be able to use the GC ext. for the classic controller.

I think he means the tiny d-pad on the classic controller.  It's even smaller than my penis, which is quite a feat.
  • I meant the D pad on a Gamecube controller. The input is not the same, unless you have a knockoff classic controller that plugs into the Wii itself. The classic controller plugs into the Wiimote.
  • If you have $60 or so to throw at a controller, you can't get any better than the Club Nintendo Japan Super Famicom controller. Europe is even getting them this year. America always gets left out in the dust.

There's also a guy on eBay that converts Nes and SNES controllers to Wii classic controllers, but he charges too much IMHO...
  • You could just buy an adapter for $18 on Ebay and use a real SNES controller. I have an adapter that plugs into the Wiimote itself. Then you will have plenty of range.
