Goonies on usa nes

I remember playing goonies on the nes as a kid, vividly, but everywhere I look it says that it was never released in america. So I bought goonies 2 for the nes and I'm positive after playing it for a short time that this is not the game I played as a kid. I'm watching this video >>> <<< and that's the game. The game I tried to beat as a kid. Am I dreaming here or was it released unofficially back then? This is seriously bothering me.

  • Famicom pirate maybe?
  • Would a famicom pirate play on an american nes? If so then that may be it.
  • You could have played it on a Nintendo Playchoice 10 arcade cabinet. If I remember correctly I think the first Goonies game was available for those old arcade machines back in the day.
  • Yea, I played the first one in the Arcade. That could be where you saw it. "The original "Goonies" game is actually ported from an arcade machine. It also reached a few other computer platforms including the MSX, Playchoice 10 and the Sharp X1." That comes from - http://nesguide.com/games/goonies/
  • The playchoice 10 arcade machine has to be it then because both of the big arcades here had one. Thanks.

I have to wonder how many quarters you pumped into that thing trying to beat it ');" onclick="sendEmo('image');" href="javascript:void(0);">image

I think this guy might be a member here but I'm not sure.

  • I also have seen this game on the NES pirate carts like the 50 in 1 and so on.

I used to get $5 spending money every time we went to the mall and I remember being broke within an hour a few times.

I actually got in on that 25th anniversary repro of the game. Now I'm even more psyched about it.

  • I got it last week on a 115-in-1 famicom loaded NES cart. IT's a pretty cool game...stupid it wasn't released as it's less confusing than the sequel. Ouch what do you do!
  • I used to play it on a playchoice 10 at a pizza hut. Also, I've seen multicarts with it on it.
