3Gen's finds post

So, went yard saling today, here's what I brought home!

Silver Gamecube+Controller and hookupos with GBA player and startup disk. Also came with Super Mario advanced GBA game. $10

Animal Crossing for gamecube: $2. One of my favorite games, so I was VERY happy to find it!

Kingdom Hearts 2 and Vice City for PS2. $5.

Powerpad: $1.

NES Jeopardy in box, box is beat to hell, game is in good condition: $0.50.

So pumped, great finds. Tomorrow is the hamfest so my finds will be a mi of videogames and tech junk, unless I (GASP) don't find anything at the hamfest. But rest assured, I've pulled out so many amazing tech finds at hamfest I'll come back with SOMETHING. Stay tuned guys!

ETA: After hamfest results!

Well, today was weird. I sold some stuff, not making a killing but good to move some of my games and get some spending money for more garage sales:

Cleaned up SNES with 1 controller+Yoshis Island+SMW+SMAS: $40.

Contra 3 bad condition: $15.

Pokemon gold and silver: $5 each. -_- (Parents sold them, ugh.)

Castlevania SOTN PS1 GH: $4, paid $1 last week.

I picked up a FF VII missing disk 1 GH perfect case for $1, so so. But I have about $550 worth of games total on the table, early on some guy apparently comes up and wants to buy basically everything besides sega stuff. They find me and tell me and I go over, well, supposedly the guy is one guy who sold a SE he found, at a localish flea market go figure. I'd heard of it before. He also says he has a Caltron and a bigger collection, I'm guessing a mix of collector/reseller, okay cool, lets make a deal. He asks what I'd want for my american GBA gams and all my SNES stuff, basically. The lot included stuff like:

3 Super mario worlds

2 SMRPG's

2 Super Mario All Stars

1 refurbed SNES (Sold later)

1 Contra 3

1 Super Game Boy

DK Country

Megaman X2

and just a ton of other solid $5-$10 titles, about 40 games in total I'd guess, about 30 solid SNES titles. Well, eventually he says he'll come back later when I get it all figured up, he said he'd look it up to to make sure. Well, he left, I generally priced it in groups and added it up and it came to $400 retail price for all the games. Well, he never showed back up, he sounded like a serious buyer. I guess he was just looking for somebody stupid who didn't know what they had and wanted to stun them with an amazing $100 or so, lol. Oh well, at least I ended up selling about $80 worth of average games. Also picked up six or so 25x2 displays, three 20x4 text displays for about $5, and a graphics LCD, generic chips, we'll see what protocol it uses later. It'll keep me busy for a while.

Comments

  • Nice, give Kid Icarus a play through, it is a great one.
  • Yeah, I was at my friend house just yesterday and he was playing it on the very bad NES emulator in Brawl. I loaded it up on emulator and he quit the wii and started playing it on my laptop. Weird I got it the day after he said he liked it on brawl. XD Oh well, I wish he said he liked stadium events now....
  • That's awesome man! I'll repeat again, I wish my Goodwills in my area had the stuff yours had.
  • This is only the 2nd thing we've found all year, there's usually NOTHING there at all. :/ Oh well, I'll take it. Although, each time I've found something there, it's either been big in quality or quantity, so it's all good. Also, my dad left a Megaman there because he thought I had it...ugh. If it's not there I'm going to flip. He passed up a NES with three sets of hookups and six controller for $10, that really made me mad. I try to tell him never to pass anything cheap up but he doesn't like to buy doubles. Despite being great trading games. :/
  • You should send that Star Tropics cart to Paul for the crappy collection. He's always looking for crappier downgrades!
  • Nah, I don't have a double and kinda want to take a cart shell like Temco NBA Basketball with a gold sticker and put it in the case with a new label. I really like this game, haven't played far, but I like it and want to make it like new again if I can. Maybe I can add a blue cart shell to the list from RetroUSB? Think blue would go good? XD

Already checked and mine was a huge chunk missing.
  • Haha, there he is! Yeah, sorry I can't send it, but it's my only one and I want to maybe fix it up. image
  • Well, today I went to GameStop. After some trouble I don't want to even remember (Signing me up for a $20 powercard or whatever and never once saying it's $20!) I came home with a 1600 Microsoft Points card and on the B2G2 deal, I got these games:

Megaman Battle Network 4: Red sun. $7.99
Megaman Battle Network 5: Team Protoman. $7.99
Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak. $6.99 [This is a fun and good game I've been wanting for years. Give it a try!]
Tak 2. $5.99 [Was my quick choice for the 2nd set of 2 games to buy, wouldn't have chosen if I had a 2nd chance]
Megaman Battle Network 3: White. $0.00 from $4.99
    Wario Land 4. $0.00 from $4.99
Megaman Battle Network 4: Blue Moon. $0.00 from $4.99
Super Monkey Ball Jr. $0.00 from $3.99 [Another filler, been interested in the game, but another one I don't think I should have picked.]

Too bad I couldn't get a good price list before I went, just went off what others grabbed and the megamans were the only thing in common. I don't think anything else there was worth it, but does anybody have a full document of Gameboy game prices like the E-Zine guide?

So, final question....how good was it? I am not entirely sure at all, just went out to try to snag something to maybe trade away locally for better stuff. I ended up with it all for about $30, so it seems okay to me.
  • If anyone can verify if the buy above was good, and this one too, I'd love you forever, for 5 minutes! Thanks!

This week was prety, missed some good finds that really makes me sad, but they hopefully will be there next week hopefully.

Well, started out bad. Hit up some garage sales with my parents, all day found nothing. So we went to the local flea market and got this list of stuff:

    Pokemon:
     Mystery Dungeon:
     Blue Rescue Team CB
     Explorers of Time CIB
     Explorers of Sky CB
    Ranger: Shadow of Almia CIB
    Heartgold CIB
    Diamond CIB

and a SNES with AV cable and RF. I picked up a adapter from the same flea market last time for $1 so it's like a complete system. Everything was $10 each but when I talked to him about the pokemon, he said he'd go $40 if I bought them all. I said "with the SNES, $45ish?" and he said sure. Good deal! Sadly, we go in and the lady at the game place locally with her husband gone can't really sell anything, but I found a MMX2! No price. I asked and she said about $25, but since it's not priced she can't sell until he gets back. She tried to call but got no answer. Next, I walk back over and look in a box of games he probably just got and hadn't put out, and I saw FFIII, MMX,MMX3 all in amazing condition. I about jizzed. I brought X3 over and said I needed them to complete the set and wasn't going to be back, and I said I'd pay $50 for them if she'd take it now. She said nope, so I just stopped. She wouldn't even take it when I offered the SNES from earlier with it. I was pretty PO'd after that. but I deserve it. You'll see when I get a chance to type up the story about last year. But I was pretty sad I couldn't pay $25 for each and GTFO of the place, heh. But I am okay with my haul so far.

Next we hit up goodwill and another yard sale which was a semi-friends. I found some GBA headphones that were KB Toys "promo" items (Say NOT FOR RESALE on the thing) and says they were free if you bought 2 GBA Video cards. I hope these are worth the $1. And at my friends yard sale we find GBA Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl sealed. $1. Has a decent tear in the front and box is cut in a tiny stip on the front, probably only worth a Cart/Manual price, but a cool find for me. Only my 5th sealed game.

So how did I do this week? I'm not into pokemon, well not as much as my friends, but I want to give these a play through. What should I start with? Also, tell me how I did! Thanks! Pretty fun/exciting/downing week but it worked out for the better I guess.

X2. Kid Ick is my favorite game. Fun, fun....(I hate this game, this game is stupid) fun, fun, fun.
  • Well, new find today! I hit up a pawn shop I hadn't been in for about 6 months and got a couple games including Conkers last time I was there and grabbed all these games:

    2600:
    Mouse Trap game

    SNES:
    Stunt Race FX
    SNES Game Genie
    Gradius III

    GB:
    Kirby Dream Land
    Pokemon Pinball
Pokemon Gold x2 but one was broken, going back to swap for a final fantasy tactics he had that I didn't get.
    Pokemon Silver x2
    Megaman Xtreme

    GBC:
    Zelda: Oracle of Ages
    Lufia: The Legend Returns

    GBA:
    WareWare Twisted
    Pokemon Sapphire
    Tales of Phantasia
Hamtaro Ham-Ham Games (Completes my Hamtaro set, can't wait to complete them, they're amazing games!)
    Final Fantasy Tactics

It was prices SNES $3 and 2600 $2.50 and then the GB games $4 each but the guy said he'd discount if I bought a decent ammount so the final total was $53. I'm pretty happy with what I got today, feels better than Christmas!
  • Nice haul! I never got to play WW Twisted, but I like the rest of the games in the series.
  • Today picked up:

FF VII Black label+Parasite Eve black label: $1. Was $2, offered $1 because FFVII wa smissing a disk and Parasite Eve was missing two. Well, after I got in the car, was putting the disks in order and FF VII disk 1 poped out of the parasite eve case behind another one! Then Parasite eve had both disks needed for the game on top of that, so over all a damn good deal! I was happy about that, now I have both copies of FF VII, GH and Non-GH.

SNES Games: $2 each, $3 for CB/CIB ones:

TMNT IV: Turtles in Time C

    Primal Rage C

    Simpsons: Bart's Nightmare C

    Might Morphing Power Rangers CIB

    The Incredible Hulk CB

So yeah, I'm pretty content with this weekends finds.
  • Bump, GREAT day today!
  • Bumparoo for todays adventure! >.<
  • Just a small (but big) update in this post: Got a dusty diamonds all star softball for free from my grandfather, along with a beat up clemens MVP baseball, heh. So pumped right now!
