I haven't been on in a while but got a few more you can add me to the list when you get a moment to update it. Here are some pics. Got the Non Hangtab gyromite box now and another dk jr non hangtab box and there was the manual in the big box gyro
Hi all, this last post reminded me, I found my third tmnt 5 screw cart . Also I now have a 5 screw mtpo. Pictures of the three tmnt games are in my picture album here on Na
Can anyone else help with the validity of the 3-screw Stinger? This is the first one to surface as far as I know. I'm not too concerned with the type of screws - most of my 3-screw black box carts have the original screws, not security ones.
The CCAG show near Cleveland was very good to me today:
Since I now have two Gotcha's, the second one will be up for grabs. I mainly want to trade it toward a 5-screw Star Force, so if any of you that have one would be willing to sell, I'm all ears. However, I won't refuse a good offer!
Also to put it rest, i discovered another 3 screw stinger so I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the variant does exist but is not easy to find-just dumb luck i got 2 in a week as ive searched for about 8 months for it hard.
Also got another 5 screw Jaws. Here are the pictures for all your viewing pleasures.
Got another one to add to the list. I received this just as is complete in box. A 3 screw gyromite cartridge (non-canadian) with the even harder to find non-hangtab box. That makes 2 of these I have now, and an extra cart only. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasures, enjoy.
Got this about a week ago, i didn't even realize until today it was a factory mismatch. Got it for best offer off ebay, paid $12 he threw in the free shipping since i bought it with a pokemon stadium n64 game and a dracula's curse cib (which oddly enough came with both the maps/monster charts for Final Fantasy.) Here are some pictures, enjoy.
Okay, what's the deal with Konami / Ultra having all of the factory mismatches? They have titles published all the way up to 1991! with factory mismatches, and the cutoff for 5-screws is 1987 (Except for R.C. Pro-Am in 1988)

Also...shouldn't there be a 5-screw Karate Kid, R.B.I. Baseball, and Side Pocket? . . . and did we ever come to a conclusion on the 2 5-screw Stadium Events?
well, i don't know too many people that would open factory sealed games to find out if they were in fact packaged up in that manner...my theory is that around 1989 some factory had a stock pile of 5 screws laying around needed to make quota since the back labels were different by that time they just never applied them to the cartridges. Ive noticed most of my mismatch finds coming from the mid west united states area, none have come from the east coast area. Hope this information helps some.
My understanding is that all these late/mismatched shells came from service center repairs where cart shell/labels were replaced, hence why there is no back label present.
wouldn't it just be easier to swap out the back case of another 3 screw (dead cart) then to modify the shell for a 5 screw?? i don't know too many repair centers that would waste their time just swapping a correct back would make refurbing the cart way faster.
From what I remember, repair centers could order new labels (front only) for damaged carts (label or shell damage), and 5 screw cart shells were what was supplied by Nintendo until supplies were exhausted, so the leftover 5 screw shells were put to use this way first.
