GREAT GIFT FROM ALBAILEY

Just had to post about it (hope albailey doesn`t mind).

Got a minty snow brothers manual in the mail today from albailey(finally completed this game).

He noticed it was on my want list, so he sent it to me for free.

Just thought something like this should`nt go unoticed and would also like to say thanks and that I really appreciate it.

  • Yeah, Al's a good guy. He coulda made a killing on that manual, but chose to help a brother out instead. Glad to see there's still good people out there image
  • very nice first class collector
  • Very cool of Al. I haven't directly dealt with him before, but he seems like a very upstanding dude!
  • Thanks.   I got the manual for free, I already had a copy, so why not pass it on.

Ditto.  Maybe we can convince a passing of 1/3 of the manual to each party.

HA! NO! I want it all or none! Sorry Sivak
  • nice avatar burdger
  • Al is the man, He sent me an autographed instruction manual and spare stickers when I bought my Limited Edition Sudoku from him.
  • Yah call me silly but my signed Sudoku manual is one of my favorite things image But I'm a geek at heart so I guess getting a developer's sig appeals to me. I'm the guy that would go after Gary Kitchen and Sid Meier before hitting up Bill Elliot or Danny Sullivan image
  • <----Has a Gary Kitchen and a David Crane signed carts <img src=/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> Not an Al Bailey though, ohhhhh Al....

  • Thanks Skank! I didn't know if there would be anyone who would know what it was, but then I remembered my skankin' friend!
  • Yep Jason and because of yours I'm bringing my carts to the show this year with hopes I can get a few sigs image
  • Make sure you have a camera as well so you can get a pic with them after they sign it image

  • I'd love to have a David Crane signed cart. Like Pitfall or A Boy and His Blob. He's probably my favorite classic programmer. Oddly enough I have a Garry Kitchen Auto on it's way to me cause I one the DP 12 days of Christmas Contest.
  • you look so happy in those pictures ngd
  • Either Jumpman or Tynstar was talking to me in the Gary Kitchen pic, I wasn't even looking at the camera image The only other NES programmer who was there I missed. The guy who programmed Tengen's Super Sprint was a key note speaker but he vanished on me.

  • Yeah I was talking to you then, actually, we both may have been. I'm not really into autographed stuff, but that is cool. As for Al: I've known it forever that he's the man. He and I met up like 2 or 3 years ago (one of the first, if not the first, person that I got to talk/trade games with in person). He's been hooking me up since day one.
  • Yes, Al is indeed the man, we had a great transaction recently.  You fucking rock dude!

The A Bob and his Blob cart would awesome. He tends to make appearances from time to time, hopefully I get lucky one of these year and attend the same event.
  • I too have to agree that Al is the man. He hooked me up with his last Sudoku... and i too got extra label/manual image

If there ever were a collector to receive a Noble Prize it would be Al, hands down.

I wondered who it was that got the other one, but figured it was rude to ask. That was one of the two numbered ones that he lost the labels for, correct? I got one of them image Al truly is the man!
  • Al lost the holograms for numbers 6-10(they were supposed to be Gold carts) So he made 96-100 Gold carts instead, thus there were probably 5 spare sets of regular Sudoku stickers/manuels that were meant for #96-100 and I think he included these in the last 5 he sold. Numbers 90-95 I think. This is kinda a funny release, but I think I have it straight.

    1-5 ------Gold Carts

    6-10 -----don't exist

    11-95----Grey Carts

    96-100---Gold carts

    Total 10 Gold, 85 Grey

  • Then how did I end up with #85? If I'm not mistaken, he lost the labels for #85 and #86, so they were never made either, and when he found them I was contacted.
  • He may have lost 86 and 87 momentarily, but found them, that could be why you got 85. That would blow my theory that there was 5 left overs then, but I didn't know he had misplaced numbers in the 80's

    85 exists, only 6-10 don't exist.....There are 85 total greys..11-95.

Since he decided to make 10 golds though, that cause him to make 5 less greys, so I was guessing he would have had some spare manuals and such left over from he 5 greys he didn't make.
  • Maybe Al could confirm all of this? Al?
  • I think he lost #84 as well, because that's the one I got and it was definitely one of the "last ones out" AFAIK. (btw, thank's again Al -- I really appreciate it). Al is definitely the man!
