Missed a Kijiji add for 2 NES sytems, 1 SNES, 1 Genesis all cable. No snes games and about 20 NES games. The picture was blurry but it had SMB2 3X, TMNT3, Adventure Island, Tiny Toons, Exitebike, RC Pro Am and two CIB genesis games: Ecco and Sonic 2 all for 75$
Not sure if this really counts, but I found a working Atari 2600 at a garage sale for $5. Came with about 20 games(lots of $20-$30 games) and 3 SNES games as well. Took it home, put the games on my shelf, and was happy.
Until my room (and all my games) took on the smell of rancid cat pee. It infected all the other games that were near it and it took a long time to get the smell out of them. I ended up selling the lot for $10 at my own garage sale. Shame... it's going to take a lot more than $5 to get all those games back.
Also found a kijiji ad for the NWC 1990 grey cart for $10... but it was already sold. Looked up the cart number and it turns out someone was pulling a prank.
That would have been the worst 'losers weepers' ever!

lol never trust an add for a NWC cart they are always fake especially the ones that sell only that one game
There was a garage sale in Upstate NY that had a decent lot of NES games in Box, and a console in box too. nothing extremely rare, but the garage sale owners obviously sold the NES stuff before the sale (scheduled for tomorrow) even opened... im living in an area full of Jackals......
Was 2nd email on a lot for a GBA SP with boxed games including Pokemon Crystal/Ruby, Harvest Moon, DKC, etc. They only wanted $65 too. Fuck, I need Crystal too
I was gonna buy a CIB Athletic World and R.O.B. for $30 on CL, but for some stupid reason i didnt, then i realized the stupid decision, contacted the guy, and he already sold it

You almost need to contact sellers that advertise games beforehand these days. Somebody is going to do it. The worst that can happen is they so no early-birds.
Saw an ad on craigslist for a garage sale. They had a SNES lot listed in detail with a picture. I emailed asked about selling beforehand and all that, which makes me a jackal I suppose. No response. I show up 20-30 minutes early and they are already out and mostly setup, so I ask about it. They'd sold it the night before AND another guy had been there 20 minutes early, so I was out of luck either way. Said he sold it cheap too, which was odd since he listed it all out and that usually means they know about the value.
Nothing incredible in the lot, but it's always great to find SNES lots in the wild. Oh well.
Was at a sale on Saturday. Lady has piles of crap all over. Ask if she has any games. " I do but its really old stuff, a Nintendo with a bunch of games" Im excited and say id be interested. "Oh here it is" I look in and its an old 2600 with like 10 c0mmon games. boo!

You should have bought the lot for $2. Sat them down in the front yard and peed on them. Then got in your car and left.
Well i've been working on a deal for along ass time now. Probably about 3 months. An antique shop has a seller that owned a video game store until 95 when he went out of business. I met with the guy and he tells me "I got 7 children dude, money is all i care about" I'm like ok...do you have anything from your store left? He tells me he has over 700 sealed Old nintendo games. When i ask him where they are im interested he tells me "In storage, after my store went out of business i hate videogames" So i prod maybe we can go to said storage unit. He says he's afraid im going to steal the stuff so no he doesn't want to show me where it is. So im pretty much over it at this point, dude is a weirdo. Well the antique lady calls me again saying he promised to bring 300 games into the store next monday *woulda been this week* and he wants to give me first crack at any of it. So of course sunday night i'm texting him asking when we can meet up, he tells me 4 30 is fine * i work until 4* So i get to the antique shop, he no showed. I text him asking whats up, and he replies "I sold the entire storage locker for 500 dollars, please stop texting me bye" Who knows wtf he had if anything, just chaps my hide that i coulda potentinonaly found 700 sealed games, and for 500 bucks someone got a fuck'n steal. Dude was a shady fuck anyway, but I can't stop thinkin bout this shit.

In my experience, people that talk like that are just talking out of their ass. I have yet to figure out the motivation behind people telling these wild stories just, maybe he thought he was impressing you. When it comes time to show and prove they never, NEVER, come through. And I'm not just talking about game collecting. This is common I all aspects of life, especially where I live now. It's insane. I would just stop thinking about it. The guy never had shit. If money was all the guy cared about, and two people were interested I the same thing, there would have been a back and forth trying to get more money out of each of you.
Thanks guys making me feel less shitty about it. The thing that made me believe he had SOMETHINg, is the fact that he does have a little booth in a little anituqe mall here in town. Figured if the guys paying space rent every month and had some video game shit *over priced mario dolls and snes nintendo power posters that he wanted wayyy too much for * that it was something to atleast think about. I did hype myself up on it cuz i so wanted to find a bunch of sealed samsons or something just hanging out ha. But ya, prolly had nothing, but it's one of those what ifs i'll always be think'n bout now

He was just talking you up like oh yeah I got all this stuff. Thinking you think its cool but wouldnt want to buy it. Then you prod into his lie, and he doesnt want to see you because hes embarrased. Then he tries the "sold it all" leave me alone tactic hoping his lie just goes away. Typical. Ive had people lie all the time about stuff they have or deals.
A few weeks ago I went to somebody's house. He had a trailer with a lot of games and other things in it. Nothing special, just the randomness you would expect from someone who goes to yard sales often. I mentioned liking things CIB. He was like, "Oh man, just the other day I sold like 400 games to a dealer."
Later that night I was talking to my father, lamenting missing out on this potential score. I told him what happened and without skipping a beat he says "That guy didn't have shit. Barry, I have 500 sealed games in my basement... Do I? People like to bullshit. Don't believe anything or get your hopes up until you see it for yourself."

my buddy found a Grey Zelda Majora's Mask N64 NFR at the flea market last sunday. I got the picture on my phone. I almost.......almost.....got up to go that morning, but decided to sleep LOL
I had the exact copy of clayfighters sculpter's cut manual that sold for $1100 on ebay in my hand. I was being a little greedy and grabbed all the best manuals the store had and tried to work out a deal. He started looking up values and he flipped out when he saw just the clayfighter box going for $400. If I would have just snuck it into a pile of junk n64 manuals I would have had it. Oh well.. Funny thing was I could have probably paid him $300 or $400 for the manual but I obviously had no clue it would go that high. I only had a feint idea it was worth $600 because that was someone's bounty on here.
I woke up later than usual because of a later than usual to-bed time and saw an ad on craigslist that was 2 hours old for lots for various systems. I contact the guy and he had already sold all of.his n64 games. 12 games, $100. Six mystery games, but conkers, mario kart, smash bros., mario party, goldeneye, and fiddly Kong racing. He knew it was a great deal for the buyer because he knew smash.bros. was $50 on it's own, but he didn't know.conkers.was was $90...
