The wise among us had their heart skip a beat. Logic said it was a scam. Everyone in my area got an email back saying that the person posted int he wrong state.
I got an email looking if I'd entertain shipping. It has been a really slow season around these parts, and with Winter coming, I said to my self, "fuck it, let's begin this vile charade"
Money order, no paypal, other state, no pictures. The red flags were everywhere. I was in a butcher shop of other nerds' dreams. But this dude was smoooooooooooth otherwise. Worked me for a day, and actually gave me a lot of legit personal information that I looked up and verified (which I'll be putting to use soon).
Suffice to say I sent him $100 and communication ceased after a brief "the package has been shipped" email headed my way the next day with no tracking number. Guy had to pick up in New Hampshire, and unless he stole someone's identity, the red button of fraud has been pushed.
I bet this guy's name is Vince Padget or something like that. Pinging his IP address has his somewhere in Cali. He uses the line he owns a storage facility in New Hampshire or Mass and someone didn't pay him rent. He uses Cheetahmen II to hook people. This is the same list of games i've seen before. He says "oops I posted this in the wrong state's craiglists because he forgot to change the city after he moved.
Cali? How is he collecting wire transfers in New Hampshire in that case? I found a Vince Padgett in New Hampshire on Facebook that I he is taking advantage of/using if it's a legit profile. Because he used the line of "sorry my son is sleeping, 8 month year old". I looked him up after that and found a person in NH with a newborn and some other info.
The son sleeping is the same story he tried to use with me about a year ago for the same bundle. And something about that he couldn't call out on a cell phone because the signal sucked. Red flagged it for me.
Track his IP address from the headers of any emails he sends and see where they take you.
I went to a GameOn store today, and they had a CIB OOT on display with a $20 sticker on it. the box was badly crushed, but for $20 I'd buy it. When I asked for it they told me that I was $45, because they needed to bump the price....
First legit looser weepers I've had in awhile: I get out of work fifteen minutes late tonight and hit my local thrift store later than usual on my commute home. I get to the store right as a local reseller is loading up a shopping cart with a pile of Wii and Saturn games. I didn't bother to try and see what he found, I would've cried if I found I missed out on a Panzer Dragoon Saga by minutes.
This is the first time this has happened to me ... I see an awesome deal on a newly listed BIN and I go to pay only to be rejected when I attempt submitting payment. I'm pretty sure I missed out by seconds.

Speaking of things that suck, I just missed on a lot featuring Bucky O'Hare and Gargoyle's quest 2 (GQ2 was NTSC! Grrrr!) for 10 BUCKS A PIECE! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Edit : GQ2 was for 30. Still mad about this...
Maybe I can trade one for an incoming copy of Space Megaforce that I got for cheap (At least one good thing happened to me these days, I had no good finds at all for ages. My last good find was an Action 52 for 45 bucks in October.)

a couple months ago i bought a minty cart only copy BIN of TMNT: Hyperstone Heist for Genesis for $25 (free shipping). It never showed up. I got a refund but still
There is a Pawn Shop chain town that is terrible, one sells all NES games for $5 across the board, they cut me deals, like 20 carts for $20 sometimes. I was at the other store in the chain today and they price all their games at PriceCharting prices, and add $4 for shipping(because they charge $4 shipping in their ebay store). When I tried to get them to bundle $35 worth of games for $30, they told me that they couldn't because I would have to pay higher than that on ebay. they then showed me a bunch of BIN's on ebay for ridiculous amounts... If they seriously believe that they make more money on ebay, how do they justify Ebay fees and shipping..
There is a thrift store in town, run by a little old lady. I used to go in there looking for games quite a bit. Last summer she told me that she was going out of business, so I just quit going in. I was in that part of town today and saw that the store was open. come to findout she never closed. She used to only have games randomly, but today she had a huge shelf of them, asking $3 apiece. There was one shelf with 7 SNES games on it, the shelf looked like it could have held 35 carts when full. she told me that she had three of the shelfs full of grey games(I'm guessing NES/SNES) afew months ago... all of the carts left looked like reseller droppings. I wonder what I missed? I'm not to happy that she told me she was going out of business last summer, just to keep going. That's some quality business ownership right there.
I'm not following the Amiibo craze that closely, but as an F-Zero fan I am very interested in grabbing a Captain Falcon Amiibo. I was at my local Best Buy today and (not really aware of release dates) asked the customer service guy if Captain Falcon was in yet. He scanned on his PC and replied "Yep! We got three out back." He then grabbed one from the warehouse out back and handed it to me. Score!
...until I got to the cashier to pay for it. The cashier informed me the amiibo wasn't due to be released until the 30th and refused to sell the figure to me. Now that I'm home and reading up on the talk about Falcon, that was probably the closest I'll get to owning a figure for awhile.
I went into my thrift store today and saw a nice super smash bros melee case for $3, I was like so going to buy it, but then opened it and it was some fighting game called quick silver or something. Big bummer.

Id have bought that anyway. 3 dollars for a melee case? sounds like a nice deal if you find a cheap disc.

I guess I could. I just checked ebay and one sold for $15. I'm sure my store still has it, they also have a bunch of sega sports games for $3 each.

look for sega sports games that end in 97 or 98. They are uncommon. If I collected genesis Id pick up games for my collection at 3 dollars. especiall later year genesis games.

I don't know much about values on other systems. I learn a little more everyday. I know some on nes and snes but mostly N64 and I only got started so I could find goldeneye beta that my brother and I played, still looking and I hope I find it soon because I'm getting tired of checking ebay everyday lol, but I have been finding some good scores from doing so.
I 'think' I passed on a CIB Panzer Dragoon Saga at a yard sale for $2. I say think because at the time, I knew nothing about Saturn games and it might have been some other RPG with a similar cover art.

That happends to me quite a bit when I go to my local goodwill, the only difference is that there's no game inside, people are constantly swiping good games, sometime bad ones as well.

even if it wasn't saga, just PD1 or 2, or any other saturn RPG, it's still a missed score.

I almost did the same with Ninja Gaiden Trilogy in a flea market. Luckily for me, that game was still there next week. But this is a major bummer, even if it wasn't PDS. It could have been a Working Designs game or something like that.
Found a huge ps1 lot locally. Over 100 games including breath of fire 3, FF7, all 3 crash bandicoot games. Guy was asking $100. He said there were at least 30 rpgs.
Through more discussion, found out they were just illegal burnt copies!! Who tries to sell copied discs!?
Told him I had to pass and he should throw those things in the trash
I passed on a cart only Ubisoft Indiana Jones in mint shape for $20 two Friday's ago. Didn't really realize what it was worth until I got home. As far as I know, it is still there, but it STILL isn't really in my budget to blow $20 for at least another week. If it's gone it will be a bit disappointing as I passed it up to buy Ghosts N Goblins instead.

Hah, this happened to me once. He had a PS1 and 30 games, all RPGs and the like, wanted $50. There was like 4 or 5 legit games, and the rest were burned. I didn't dig through the bag and I met him in a parking lot. I don't think he intended to rip me off or anything, but jesus, mention they're burned.
Lucky for me the legit games were a couple Final Fantasy games, so I easily made my money back.

Lol yes, this does happen!
I remember a couple of years back I was selling/trading some SNES and Genesis stuff over CL, and met up with a guy that eventually bought my Gamecube and lot off of me. He initially wanted to trade me a bunch of PS1 stuff (which I was looking for at the time), but come to find out, 80% of them were burned copies. I literally laughed and just said "No thanks, we can just do the cash trade for the GC", and that was that
I went to my Toys R Us at 9:25 today, and there was 14 people in line for the Lucario Amiibo. Worker came out, counted us, and told up there were 15 amiibos( all they pre orders were all taken care of, so 1 per customer. I was happy that I was the 15th. Shortly after, since I was in the back near the exit door, I saw 3 workers heading out with some raffle tickets, to prevent cutting. I barely caught some faint discussing they were having ( will explain in a minute) then the worker came out and said they re counted and they have only 14 now. I was so pissed, and the thing is, I think one of the workers took the 15th one because that is what it sounded like from there faint conversation before he came out( sounded something like about his amiibo).
On top of that, a person who came in line 6 people behind me yelled who wants to sell me there amiibo, and another costumer yelled $30 and laughed. I thought he was joking, but when I was waiting for my friends to come out, the 2 of them were outside, and he was selling his amiibo to the guy that came behind me for $40. So he just came the to scalp it
