Factory Sealed Chalenge of Dragon !!!

Won this auction  for $150 image. Looks like its in nice shape. I actually had a chance to buy one for $199 in the past but passed up the offer. I was surprised to see this go for the price it did. I'm assuming that these don't show up often sealed.

  • Well done gimmick
  • That is the European version of the game. The only difference is a small sticker on the front of the box though. Nice pick up.

  • Why does it seem that the European version is less rare than a sealed us one?

Actually, I agree, I've seen two European ones, and no US ones sealed.
  • Nice pick-up, bro. And yeah, the Euro release does seem to pop up somewhat more often than the US release (I think I've seen 2 factory-sealed US releases pop up vs. about 9 or 10 factory-sealed Euro releases).
  • Cant you just peel the sticker off, then its a US release?  Or is the sticker under the shrinkwrap?
  • I think its under the shrinkwrap, dunno though, havn't gotten it in the mail yet.
  • I have one of these as well. There is a sticker on the front and on the back of the box and it is on the box, so no chance of peeling it without damage.
  • Since I'm the seller of this Challenge of the Dragon sealed, (which is in excellent condition Mr. Gimmick, maybe 10/10, you won't be disappointed once you'll get it) I can answer why there's more European sealed than US sealed. The only reason is that when Color dreams shot their false European version to Europe (they're not PAL, they're NTSC), people could not play these games with their PAL Nes without modifying it, which was not really common at this time. So, even if the european boxes are rarer, many of them are still sealed because they haven't been bought in the 1980's-90's. I still have 2 Challenge of the Dragon sealed, and one of them has stickers on the seal (which were put there by a retailer) saying "This game will only work on your nintendo if it has been modified. Ask for details if any doubt. Over 100 extra games available when modified."
And yes, french stickers are on the box. Hope you'll like your little gem Mr. Gimmick.
  • Thanks for the info gullavie, and I will most definately enjoy the game! image
