  • Star Tropics, Crystalis, Arcana, Dragon Warrior 2
  • Zelda and Super Mario 3 are definitely at the top. I remember calling toy stores every day, trying to find out when shipments of SMB3 were coming in so I could grab a copy.

Also, Dragon Warrior I & II. Life Force gets a nod as well.
  • Playing Centipede on Atari 7800 with my father for over 4 hours one night! We were just an unstoppable machine! Yie Ar Kung Fu in the arcade, even today I love this GAME!
  • zelda 1 & 2 for sure.. and last year it was secret of mana that i played for the first time. brilliant!
  • Kirby's Adventure, Super Mario Bros, Link to the Past, Crystalis, Donkey Kong Country 2, Final Fantasy VIII and X, Grand Theft Auto 3/Vice City, Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing... Man, the list could go on and on...
  • Blaster Master, Mega Man 2,Metal Storm, Final fantasy 3, Mario Kart and Hydlyde
  • Blackjack for the 2600. I remember my grandpa teaching me to play "21" and my mom getting pissed about it. Everyday I hit the casino's and hit a blackjack, I know my papa is watching....
  • Super mario world, mario all stars, battle toads and double dragon, aladdin, snes tournament fighters, and mario kart oh and dkc 3. And dkc 1. Because I played them alot.
  • NES - Bigfoot

    SNES - Starfox

    N64 - Goldeneye

  • Atari - Adventure,River Raid and HERO , my first games ever.

Genesis - Sonic 1 , the game that made me a gamer, back in 1991/2.

Snes - Chronno Trigger, first RPG, made me love the genre for the next 10 years, then I got really tired of it, but never tired of this game.

  • There are so many, but here are a few of the ones that hold the strongest memories:

NES: SMB 3(I remember the first time i beat it very well because i beat it right before my dad got home from work, and i was so proud of myself).

SNES: Mario Kart(I played it every single day after school with my neighbor across the street who was 3 years older than me and was always mad cause I always won.)

N64: Goldeneye007(Used to play against my brother and 2 of our neighbors 3vs1, and they still could never win versus me, to this day one of my brother's childhood friends dad still plays this game almost daily.)

Playstation: I know its nintendo age but, FF7 changed me as a gamer since it was the first RPG i had ever played. Some friends in middle school were talking about it, and i was curious but my parents wouldn't have it. Lucky for me my cousin had a PSX and i remember vividly the day we went over for his birthday, and he was playing FF7. He ended up letting me borrow his PSX and FF7 after he completed the game. Without that I never would have played such greats as Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, or any of the other Final fantasies.
  • Donkey Kong on Coleco Vision. Haunted House on Atari 2600. Final Fantasy II and Link to the Past on SNES. Dragon Warrior, Super Mario Bros, and Galaga on NES.

Special mention for Mario Kart SNES. My friend and I used to play 1v1 on track 1 of Mushroom Cup every day (I forget the track name... Mario Circuit?). We would play until one of us had 20 wins. Great times.
  • Contra, played it with my dad, my cousins, my neighbors, and anyone and everyone who would play it with me. Also Maniac Mansion and grandma killing me with the chainsaw over and over and over and over.....

1)The early games in the King's Quest, Space Quest and Police Quest series. I remember trying to figure these games out with my father. However we always had to revert to the strategy guide to get us through the games.

I love the King's Quest games as well! I grew up playing KQ5 and 6; they were among the first computer games I ever learned to play. I hadn't played the earlier games in the series until just last year, when I found out they had been remade in VGA format. The remake of KQ2 is amazing!
  • clu clu land and excitebike.
  • Too many to list really but I remember some really classic head to head competition with my best friend on the Tecmo Bowl games and RBI Baseball. Also a lot of bitching at each other when we'd mess each other up playing Contra. Good times.
  • final fantasy (while listening to eminem...) earthbound, lost vikings, super bomberman, zelda ALTTP
  • Atari 2600: Pac-Man, Fantastic Voyage and Combat.  Those were the only games my cousin had and I used to play the heck out of them whenever I got a chance to go to her house.

Atari 7800: Pole Position II and Asteroids.  I remember bringing home the 7800 and the extended family all huddled around the TV playing these 2. Plus my dad and I used to play Asteroids co-op quite a bit.  Probably a lot like the other guy with Centipede since both those games have excellent and similar co-op modes.

NES: SMB 1 and 3, all the Dragon Warriors, TMNT 1 and 2, and Tecmo Super Bowl.  I have a lot of fond memories with these games, often times with a friend or 2 (or 3 or 4...) involved.

  • Maniac Mansion, Crystalis, San Andreas, and MVP Baseball 2005.
  • Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.
  • wow, i have too many. Just start from the beginning I guess. First time i saw a NES it was at my babysitters house. I still remember holding that controller playing Mario at 4YRS old, 31 now. PS. SNES Mario Kart is best game ever made.
  • leaving the NES on for like 4 or 5 days straight trying to beat Faxanadu when I was about 7 or 8 years old. Never finished it, and someone bumped the console and caused the red flashing screen of death. It was the best and worst memories of playing NES back in the day.

Oh, and Kirby's adventure. That never got old.
  • SNES

    Super Mario World

    Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2

    Cool Spot

    Bubsy

    NFL Quarterback Club

    NES

    Mario 3

    Yoshi's Cookie

    Mario 2

    Tecmo Super Bowl

    1) My first three games were SM/DH combo, RC Pro-AM and Top Gun
    2) Trying to land that friggin plane on Top Gun
    3) Opening Dragon Warrior (pure epic), I still have my "quick card" around here with the spells and levels on it.
    4) I still don't know what the R power-up does in Contra.
    5) Using the Game Genie because its the only way half my games would work (you guys know what I'm talking about).

    4) I believe the R powerup was for rapid fire.

  • The main game I have the most fond memories of would be Super Mario Bros since it was the first video game I ever played by myself. I can still remember the day I first played it when I was five years old. I snuck into my brother's room, figured out how to insert the cartridge into his new Nintendo Entertainment System, turned the TV to channel 4 and pressed the power button. It was truly magic for me just to be able to do that. At the end of completing the first stage after many attempts I was hooked on Nintendo and Video Games.
  • I have so many fond memories of most of the games I played when I was a kid, but the biggest ones are probably, Mega Man IV, Star Tropics, Commando, Top Gun, Little Nemo, Kickle Cubicle, Golden Axe to name a few...
  • As a big platformer guy, games like Flashback and Oddworld stick out above most. Mortal Kombat II had me obsessed, and Mario 64 was pure genius. There are so many, it's hard to think of which memory I find more pleasing. I got my 1st NES in 85, and got Super Mario Bros, and Castlevania. Kid Icarus was next, and is still one of my all time favs.
  • NES, these were big for me: Arkista's Ring, Little Nemo

SNES: Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest ( just loved this simplistic RPG with amazing music)

N64: Banjo-Kazooie, Mario 64, Majora's & Ocarina, Diddy Kong Racing (just loved RareWare N64 Games and my greatest video game regret is that Dinosaur Planet never was released), Harvest Moon 64 (man, my friends and I would talk about our wives for hours XD)
  • This is almost unanswerable. There are far too many. If I didn't have fond memories of almost all my gaming, then I suspect I wouldn't still be a gamer.

The closest thing I can think to a single answer would be Doom/Doom II. All the long nights spend playing deathmatch via null-modem serial cable. Using various map and wad editors to create custom levels and weapons.
  • super mario kart, super mario world, pinball (famicom), final fantasy, earthbound!
