Hey everyone.  This week's contest will be Adventure Island.  Here are the rules:

  • 1 life only
  • Participation: 10,000

The contest ends Sunday, 4/24/11 at 10 PM NA time, 9 PM central time.  Your user name must be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  Good luck everyone and have fun!

    This out to be hard for me, since out of every series of games I haven't beaten a single NES Adventure Island game, can't imagine my score being very impressive, but I'll still give it my all.

    Hopefully I'll have some time this week. Really have only had time for smaller play games, like 2600 stuff. At least things are looking up in the health things over here.

    Yep, 10,000 points is the minimum score you have to achieve in order to submit a picture.

    Yeah I've never even came close to beating this game. Should be fun though, I'll give it a try.

    Getting better. If only I ran under that red frog I'd been okay and at least would have passed the hundred thousand mark. But that's about as bad as me getting hit by the same rolling boulder a stage or two before that on two different games, darned memory.

    This is a pathetic score but I told Kevin I would participate this week. This was my very first run and hopefully I can find time and do much better.

    UGH! I was at about 100,000 points and then I realized it said on the rules 1 life only. I will not give up, I will submit a score by tonight!!!

    I haven't had much time for this game this week. Best I've been able to do is a little over 17,000. I might have some time for this today, but I don't think my score is going to be that great. I'm not very good at the Adventure Island games.

     What a dumb way to die, got hit by the second boss' fireball (got over eager on attacking him, put myself in danger), but at least I managed to finally pass the hundred thousand mark, but then after that death I was unable to reach that score again, but am consistantly making the ninty thousand range, no less than that anymore.

    I think that's it for me for this game.

    Looks like I'll be in for participation this week.  I did better than I thought I would.

    Yes! I did much better than all my previous attempts, making it to Area 3 Round 1 before my first death. Since I got this far though, may as well keep going to see if I can get even close to beating this game, probably not, but why not try since I'm still in the game now.

    Well, that was quick. Lost all but my last life in Area 3 Round 2, game over at the start of Area 3 Round 3. Not up for trying to get any further, only played for the contest anyway.
