Game "CPU Jams" on me in nestopia, after a goal is scored, but the original rom works fine, as well as TransBRC's hack

    Anyway, Coinheaven repros this, but it looks as though he uses the same translation patch that you're using. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, it's a very fun game for sure!

    This is a different translation of the same game. I have a repro of this one and it works great. This game is a lot of fun too.

    Yes, as I noted in my first post, that one works, however, its not a "True" transation, names where changed etc.

    Sorry guys, nothing to get too excited about. Definitely in it's earliest stages of possible movement from the Fami to the NES, this one isn't much different than the retail Famicom release.



    There was word on the rumor mill that some unnamed collector has one that is like 60% translated, but with no pictures or further info, I've always called bullshit on that one.

    Edit:  I guess I should have answered the initial question.  It is an NES proto for Ike! Ike! Hockey when it was being considered for a US translation and release.

    Double Edit:  I really shouldn't say "bullshit" to the more complete proto, but the info surrounding it is very vague and information is word of mouth.  Not to say it doesn't exist, but there isn't anything to physically point to as evidence of it existing.

    The "True" translation seems to work on Nesticle, though it's a little buggy.

    Seems like you can buy a reproduction copy of it here: http://www.nesreproductions.com/ Not sure if it's fully translated or not. They call it "Ice Ice Hockey Challenge" there. Seems like the same game.

    Saw a video of it on youtube. The game looks fun to play. Man, Technos really milked this series in Japan.

    I'm noticing looking around, like discussed, there are different patches available. Some have even translated and re-worked the graphics on the title screen. Not bad. I'm wondering if somebody could point me in the direction of the "best" patch.



    The one with the translated titlescreen, etc.

    I appreciate the link Khan. Now I'm going to have to look for more of these "Nekketsu" games. I was a big fan of River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball back in the day, so I figure these will hopefully measure up.
