Massive Philips CDI dev lot, one of our biggest finds!

Just got back from spending some time with the former Vice President of Interactive Media Systems for Philips and ended up getting a whole bundle of stuff.  Some things of particular interest:

-  A HUGE lot of demo games, some unreleased, also a Zelda's Adventure red demo disc.
-  An unreleased wireless trackball controller
-  A Sega Justifier gun modified and run through a converter box to work on a 3DO.  This is a precursor of the released Peacekeeper.
-  A boat load of CDI discs used at various conventions, shows, and meetings, with demos, tech info, and advertising/marketing information.
-  Several systems and maybe 150 retail games/videos.

I'll start with some pictures, but I'll definitely update with more info.  This is another find I can credit Matt with, huge props to him:

  • what an awesome score congrats!
  • Wow, that is a ton of stuff! Nice score!
  • That is awesome.  This is one of those finds that I hope to eventually find, but you made out like a bandit.  The Zelda's Adventure Demo Disc goes for 700 dollars alone.  I'd be lying if I didn't say I was jealous, but anyways, congrats man.
  • Damn you people and your connections! I'm so jealous!
  • Nice! I hope you did a little interview and said thanks to this guy! That's awesome that this stuff isn't in a landfill, even though I don't collect for this system.
  • Wow that's a fantastic score. I had one of those systems back in the day and seeing the games all out there is reminding me of titles I had (Link, Little Divil, Mutant Body Slam, and others.) Some people just luck into the most amazing things.

Ha!  Love it!  So nice to luck into the second largest NES proto collection around too!

In all seriousness, you'd have to figure that my proto collection is more hard work than luck.  Luck has little to do with it.
  • I figured as much, but I mean still something has to happen to bump into the former VP of Philips interactive media to work out a deal to get all this stuff was my point.

Bumped into the former President of RARE during the NES era too, neither was by accident

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity, that's all.
  • Very nice, and yes that is true. Luck in itself is nothing, just an excuse I guess, it's more what you make of what situations opportunities you have.
  • Nice man!
