this ended at 9:00:00...so wouldn't milligan be the winner???(lol.i'm just being a dickwad now)
Wow, that is a tough call. There was $37 bid with 2 seconds to go and $40 bid at the buzzer. So, technically the question would be does the auction end at X:00.00 or Y:59.59? I will browse the Auction FAQs or someone else can chime in, this is interesting though.
EDIT
I just saw your edit so I guess I am being one too. I really like to think of myself as an inquisitive nerd that seeks the definate, mathematical answer to all questions. Most questions can be answered with simple or complex mathematics...damn I am really a nerd.
As soon as the auction ended, I posted "Tie goes to Clutch? Nice grab." and no one has a problem with that. So I'd say that the auction is live up to and including 9:00:00.
Yeah even though I would have loved to pick up this lot, my natural instinct was and is to call Clutch's bid good at 9:00:00. I don't know which is the standard way of doing it, but I concede it to Clutch for his awesome anticipatory outbidding of himself on the final second!
I don't see where anyone tied though Jonebone, that just confused me
I meant he "tied" as in "tie goes to the runner" like in baseball. If the runner arrives at the exact second of the ball, he's safe. So I was saying that MrClutch's bid arrived at the exact last second of the auction, and it was good.
not that i really care (nor does it seem anyone else does in a serious manner), but you can equate this to basketball: If the ball isn't out of the shooters hand before 0:00:00, then the basket is no good.
The ruling of the Supreme Court of NintendoAGE in the case of Clutch v Jone has set a precedent for all future auctions in the community of NintendoAGE. The court's ruling was that if a bid is placed at the exact ending time of an auction, that bid will be honored. Jone has publicly commented that he does not intend to appeal the decision made by Judge Garth Brooks.
