FamicomStation

As some of you know I bought a FamicomStation.

I recived the package yesterday and was very excited image

The station was well packed with bubblewrap and those mars mellows things.

This was how it looked like when I got it out of the package:

Some idiot handeling the package choosed to throw the package.

And when something which weigh 15Kg lands on the corner, something has to break... image

The station still works but the faceplate is garbage...

I've talked to the seller and he's going to try to find a new faceplate for me.

I hope the FamicomBox I'm waiting for from another seller gets here in one piece.

    Thanks for the sympathy.....

When I saw the damage, it was like beeing punched in the face image
  • Wow, that is such a shame............ :/

Seems like a good seller too..... goddamn international shipping. Is there anything the post office can do since it was their fault?

I don't know what the postal office can do as we don't know where in the shipping the damage was done.

I asked the seller about insurance but he didn't answer that question, instead he said he might find a replacement faceplate.

I just want it to look whole again...

Looking at this bump, you shouldn't think that the damage was this big...

  • Oh man, my stomach sank when I saw those pictures. I'm sorry, I hope he does end up finding the replacement face plate.

    Takk for din medfølelse ...

Yea I really hope Japan Games find a new frontpanel, crossing my fingers...

He seems like a good guy.
  • Ouch.. damn, that sux image I hope the seller finds a new faceplate for you.

About insurance, judging by the parcel note on the package i guess it was shipped with surface mail? Unfortunately surface mail doesnt offer insurance, maybe thats why the seller didnt reply to that question. But i cant blame you for using surface mail, i used surface mail myself when i bought my Famicom Station about 2 years ago from Japan. Hell, then it cost like 105 US dollars, pretty much for shipping, but it is indeed a heavy item. EMS with insurance costed atleast twice as much.
  • Shipping was SAL with tracking and insurace.

I choosed SAL because I thought that it would arrive safely....

Next time I'm going to get them to shoot the package out of a canon,it's probably safe as regular shipping image
  • I just got a message from the seller.

He has a faceplate for a FamicomBox and ask if that's a suitable replacement.

Should I go for it or should I wait for a FamicomStation faceplate to turn up?

It can be a long wait as these dosen't grow on trees anymore, right?

Maybe it doesn't matter since the station is dentend and not in mint condition anyway....
  • Ah ok, sorry image I thought SAL was the same as surface, no? The parcel paper looked different than the EMS one so i gambled on that you had it sent with surface hehe. But if you have insurance i dont see why the seller couldnt contact the postal office and ask. Unfortunately it wont fix the Famicom Station, but maybe you could get alittle of the money back atleast.
  • If anybody will sort it out, Eric will. A fantastic ebay seller that I've bought massive amounts of stuff off. Just waiting for a few things off him myself at the moment.

Personally, I'd hold out and see if he can get you a Famicom Station face plate.  I don't see the Station for sale nearly as often as the Box, so it might be hard for you to get another Station if you decide you want one sometime in the future.  As long as he's willing to take care of this for you, I'd wait.
  • Fy fan va jobbigt! I really hope you get it sorted, wait for a FamicomStation faceplate. My stomach turned upside and I almost barfed when I saw the damage..
