move locked threads to unviewable graveyard subforum?

i dont want to come off as if i am angry or mad about this or anything, certainly its not that. but i have noticed a lot more closed threads recently for pretty much the same reasons. i do think its good of the mods to take a little bit more proactive stance in closing dupe, or obvious reason threads recently and i do appreciate the effort it takes to take care of it. however, if the threads are being locked, for any reason, it makes a little more sense from a moderation standpoint for the moderator to lock and move the thread to a graveyard, and to pm the user for the sake of search for one if locked threads come up in it, but for two it saves people a little bit of time.

surely im only making this thread because i think it might make some of the subforums that have problems with closed topics a little less cluttered and help the forum as a whole. however, i think in moving the thread to even a viewable graveyard forum and pming the thread creator, it could also help some of the newer users who make some of the mistakes due to not reading the faq or using search from making threads hastily.

thank you to NA and all the mods for simply having a subforum for suggestions and feedback, i think its really cool to have that, i dont think any other forum i use does!

  • Problem is, nobody ever checks the graveyard before making a thread.
  • Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

It is policy to lock threads and leave them where they are for "reference" purposes. If people utilize the search features correctly, even a locked thread will show up for and maybe provide the information required. As for now, a locked thread will eventually fall deep into back pages since it can never get bumped...
  • we might need a search for dummies, i type in words, or a word with 10 letters, and get nothing but 5 letter words and no topic i was looking for ? LOL
  • I love to read locked threads, I vote no
  • I say we lock up shawnphase.

I sooooo wish I could add a poll to this thread.
  • I could be like a deleted thread where everyone could see the threads in it's own subsection once they're locked. I wouldn't have a problem with that. Really, the best part of being a mod is playing around in the trash!
  • I think this would be good for the auction forum, at the very least.
  • They need to stay where they are and not being bumped does make them fall back quickly so it doesn't matter. And I hate it when people change the title for the search reason. When you search a sentence that you remember in a topic you want to find again and it's the one with an irrelevant title it makes it a pain to find because the title basically gives zero description what it was originally about.
