I've been contemplating this for some time, we could always all pitch in and rent a vaction rental somewhere that works for everyone either way I am down!
Missa and I have discussed a west coast camp out before. This topic comes up every year about this time. I would host for sure...but I am sure the base would not like that many people in my yard. Plus Felons can not get on base...and I am sure most of the NA community is
I am up for any meet up that people would plan...but I agree it is a huge undertaking.
I like Robin's idea but we can't really call it a campout when we are in a nice luxury vacation home. I'm still in though but it would be cool to have the more outdoor type campout like the original.
3 nights for $84 seems like an even better idea. There's a huge deck, so we can spend plenty of time outside :-) It would be great if we could time this the same time as the "Official" NA campout next year, then we could connect the 2 events via web cams.
No bullshit. 3 years ago, I went camping with my wife & kids and our friends at Squaw Lake on the CA/OR border. We were at the farthest camp into the upper lake, about 3 miles from the next closest campsite. That year, there had been record forest fires in northern California and you could smell the smoke in the air. On our third and final day at the lake, about an hour and a half after the sun went down, a 9 foot tall cinnamon brown bear that had be displaced by the forest fires, knocked over the garbage can next to where our cars were parked. After a 15 minute standoff with the bear between us (4 adults, 8 children and 5 dogs) and our mode of escape, we finally made it out of the campgrounds only to return in the morning to find our site utterly ravaged.
I will happily declare "dibs" and gladly pay extra for the Captain's Suite.
In case you didn't catch my point....fuck camping.

Over half of the problem is finding someone to host it.
Feel free to have one, but realize that you'll end up with 50+ strangers invading your yard and your house for 4+ days and it's a nightmare at first.
If serious, PM me if you have any questions or need advice about hosting an event like the Campout.
doesnt have to be someone's property right? We could just hit up a campsite with power.
this is true, but finding space for all the gaming glory will be difficult at a camp ground.
You'll see next week my friend, you'll see!

7 bathrooms. + 2 half baths
42 seat movie theater.
Pool table.
Hot tub.
Sauna.
Elevator.
2000 sq. ft. deck
Nearby casino
$4,000 divided by 25 people is 160$ a pop..... not bad for a week in a luxury beach house.
