NintendoTwizer's Garage Sale Summer
This is going to be my on going finds thread. See Last post for latest.
Scroll to the bottom. Updated 7/30/11
So I garage sale almost every weekend during the summer and sometimes I actully find stuff in my small town. My mom garage sales more then me though and because of this I make sure to tell her that if she ever see's any games that comes in grey carts to let me know. She's not a gamer or anything and so she's usally wondering about the Sony Gamebox or the Nintendo Cubestation, ect.
Anyways this is what she found today for 50 cents each.
I was quite excited to see Zombies ate my neighbors. I've also never heard of Xardion, but I believe its somewhat hard to find. All and all not a bad haul for under $5.00

Crazy garage sale week. Here's what I found:
Garage Sale #1
2 GBA SP's one with car charger the other with wall charger. Both work.
Final Price: $1.00 each
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #2
This is the big one. This guy didn't have an ad in the paper, but did have a posting on craiglist. In his ad he said he had video games. I called his number and he said he had Super Nintendo and some Sega. So I was excited and made sure that his sale was an early stop on my list.
This is what I bought from him:
2 SNES systems (ones missing the cords)
4 SNES controllers
1 Super Scope
9 SNES Games
1 SNES Game Genie
1 N64 system w/hook ups
2 Controllers
8 N64 Games
Final Price: He asked me to make an offer. I offered $50 for everything. He said deal. I think he would have taken less. Damn... oh well, still a good lot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #3
Megaman and SNES games.
Final Price: $5.00 for everything
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #4
7 Gamecube games.
Final Price: Wanted $5 each, which is more then I'm willing to pay for Gamecube, so I offered $20 for the lot. He said deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #5
2 Gamecube games.
Final Price: Same as before, wanted $5.00 each. Asked if she'd take $5 for both. She said deal.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #6
N64 w/controller
Final Price: Wanted $7.00 for it, good enough for me, I said deal.
--------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #7
NES w/ 18 games and two controllers. This was my favorite deal of the day. The best games in this lot are Super C, MTPO and Zelda II.
Final Price: Wanted $10 for everything, ha ha... didn't try to bargain him down, I said deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #8 Final Sale
NES game
Final Price: $3.00. I bought this from a friend, whose son had bought it and a bunch other NES games earlier that day from another garage sale. The dang kid scoped me on a deal. He bought a NES and 20 games, a few w/boxes for $35. I heard about this and looked at the games he got. Hatris was probably his best game and the only one I don't own, all the rest were commons. So I offered him $3.00 for it and he said deal.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was quite a bit of stuff I skipped, a box of Atari games for $20 bucks (I know nothing about Atari games). I skipped on a PS1 mini w/monitor for $10, I'm kicking myself for that, but again I don't collect PS1 stuff. Saw a ton of Xbox and PS2 games also, oh well. All and all it was a great garage sale week.
Final Total: $101
Wow that's a mega pick type score going on there at various locations. What were those SNES titles lined up sideways, can't make out all of them? Also, MML in the lot with the rest...hell at $5 that's robbery for that alone.
ha ha, yeah... oh and the SNES titles are:
Drakkem
Breath of Fire
Mortal Kombat 3
Mortal Kombat 2
FF: Mystic Quest
Super Mario World
College Slam
Battle Clash
Spiderman Carnage
****Update: 6/19/11****
I missed last week, because I was in Vegas for a wedding. This week was not too bad though, so let's start.
Garage Sale #1
Actually found this at a thrift store. This particular store rarely has anything, but when it does, it's really cheap.
GBA SP (Didn't turn on when I bought it. I charged it for a few hours and now it works great)
Price: $3.50
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #2
Gamecube Legend of Zelda's Collectors Edition. I was amazed to see this game at a garage sale. When I saw it on the table a lady had her fingers on it, I was swearing to myself, put it down, put it down... Ha ha, she did and I swept it up.
Price: Wanted $4.00 asked if she'd take $3.00, she said "Deal".
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #3
Gameboy, Dr. Mario, Mortal Kombat 2. Much like my mother in the first post, I also have a brother that garage sales and keeps an eye out for Nintendo stuff for me. He picked these items up.
Price: $1.00 for everything in picture. Woo hoo!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #4
Sad, dirty NES. So I always check garage sale ads for anything "games" or "video games", this ad had the words video game in it, so I made sure I was the first there. It was a trailer house on the outskirts of town. The property was rough and the people were strange, but nice. I looked around and saw tons of tiny clown figurines on the tables, but no games. I kept looking and that's when I came across this:
No controllers, no hook ups. Very dirty and sad looking. SMB. 3 is sitting on top of the NES, I open up the front slot to see SMB1. I picked up the machine and shook it, something big is rattling around, not a good sign. I asked "how much", they said to make an offer. Well, I wasn't sure if anything worked, but I knew SMB3 was worth 5 or 6 bucks atleast and SMB1, maybe a couple bucks. I offered $5.00 and they said okay.
I get home and open it up. No less than three spiders were living inside of it. Pretty much covered in cobwebs. If I ever get reincarnated, I think it would be a spider inside a NES. The thing that was rattling inside was some sort of metal ring, not part of the NES, but probably inserted into the cartridge slot at some point in time. I disabled the region chip and was going to replace the pin connector, but amazingly the 72 pin connector looked shiny and new.
I gave it a good cleaning inside and out. Here's a comparison shot of when it was done:
The moment of truth, it's clean, but does it work?
Success!
Price: $5.00

Garage Sale #5
Last but not least. I dropped by a garage sale and found.... no games. But... I did find something I've wanted since I was seven. Gamer Chair.
Price: That's my daughter showing off. Pretty nice condition. Lady wanted $5.00 for it, seemed fair enough. I said deal.
Got job on cleaning it all up! Also great that it works, I probably wouldn't have picked it up in the condition it was in...well, MAYBE for the games, like you did
UPDATE: 7/30/11
It's been awhile since I've posted some new garage sale finds. Today I found tons of games. Most of which I don't collect. I'm mainly a Nintendo guy, so I don't really collect anything sega, playstation, ect. But I also won't pass on what I think is a good deal when I see it. So let's get started.
Garage Sale #1
Intellivsion games.
I normally never find games this old at garage sales and I'm not really knowledgeable in them. In fact I thought they were Atari games at first site.
Price: 25 cents each.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #2
Sega Saturn and Games.
I've also never seen one of these at a garage sale. Not your normal find. It came with 5 games, four of which are NFR demo games. Are these worth anything?
Price: Lady wanted $25. It didn't have a power adapter so asked if she'd take $15.00. She said deal. (Luckly the power adapter is the standard DC adapter which I have a couple extra lying around)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #3
Playstation games.
I noticed this guy had some nice RPG's. I'm not big into RPG's but I do know that those are usually worth more than the crappy sport titles I always find.
Price: $10.00 total for everything.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Sale #4
SNES game
Just a sad lonely SNES game. What was this game doing buy itself with no system or other games I don't know. But I'm pretty sure I saved it from the trash.
Price: 25 cents
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage sale #5
MEGA LOT
Nice scores!
I have to travel normally an hour or so away from my area to hit the goodies.
nice finds!
The Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter 2, and Daytona USA games are not demos. They are the full games. Towards the end of its sale life, they gave away that three pack of games with a system purchase. Not quite a pack in, but close.
