I just cracked this game out for the first time in ages. It's tough! (duh) Really fun, and you don't usually feel cheaped out when you die. Kinda like BK that way. I've only gotten to the Turbo Tunnel. Haven't beat it yet, but have been making progress. It seems like there's infinite continues - is that the case? And how much harder does it get? And have you finished it?

My wife enjoyed playing it with me, and she's not a big gamer. Interestingly enough, she's done pretty well, too! She still has trouble with the jumps in the walking section of Turbo Tunnel, but she does marvelously well in level 2 (whatever it's called).

Just wait till you get to Rat Race,Terror tubes, and the level I've never beaten Clinger Winger.

turbo tunnel,Karnath's lair, and Volkmires inferno are the most fun to me.

I used to always play Battletoad & Double Dragon with my friend during lunch from school every day. never beat it.

Turbo Tunnel isn't bad once you get used to it. I can beat that level every time now without losing a life.



As for continues, I think you only get 2 or 3 total in the game.



Furthest I ever got was Clinger Winger. That's a tough stage for sure. The rest aren't bad once you get used to them.

The only trouble the game ever gives me is that annoying as shit sled level. I can only get through it with luck not skill and it bugs me. I love the games but that level usually makes me put it up for a long time.

You know, I've read that somewhere before, but I'm sure (without having counted) that I tried quite a few more times than that....

Wait until the tunnel. It's passable with practice, but it's 1000000 times harder if you are playing co-op.

By myself I've never beat the third level. When me and my brother are playing together we can make it to the water level. Just out of curiosity, is the genesis version any easier or harder than the nes version?

FYI, something I just learned this year (also never passed the turbo tunnel) you don't have to jump on the jumps, just hit them.

Try to beat it in co-op mode with neither player dying That'd be the most epic gaming accomplishment in the universe.

It gets harder from there, but you can easily rack up 1 ups once you find where they are/use the points. This is by far my favorite game ever.

As far as I remember, they are equally as difficult. It has been awhile since I've played the Genesis version

I think the rat race is a bit easier on the genesis (slower rat!)I think the rest are about the same.

There are limited continues, but I'm not exact on how many. I can get to the level with the snakes you have to ride, but if I've beaten that level it has been only once.



Tough game, but fun.

I think the amount of continues might be randomized, or based on some strange factor the player probably isn't paying attention to, kind of like in Ironsword.

In Ironsword you have unlimited continues until you reach the Earth realm. After you reach the Earth Elemental's area you must rely on passwords.

The only way I was ever able to beat this game was cheating. I used a rom and saved as I progressed. Without that, I made it to the third level a few times.
