Finally got a ROB
Picked up the close to CIB Deluxe set yesterday...

Box is not great, but better than average...

The real nice thing is how clean he is. Does not look like he has ever been played.
System is used, but no biggie. ROB is the important part.

Spinners still have the cardboard on them.
Only thing that is missing is the paperwork...Which I assume that is the hardest part to find of the boxed set....so if you have extra ROB papers...hint hint, wink wink
Oh, did I tell you I paid $120 for it...

I did not even think to look since I knew it was not original deck
Very cool. Most of the paperwork isn't really that difficult to come by. The hardest piece I've found is the eye shades for ROB. I've heard that the Gyromite and Duck Hunt are supposed to be CIB inside it, too, but I can't say for sure. I have wondered how well they would fit up there.
And, call this a dumb question, but what range of serial numbers are supposed to be in these deluxe sets?
I honestly never bothered to check mine. It doesn't have the registration sticker on the back, or the remnants of one with the serial on it.
So, again, is there a specific range that is supposed to be in the deluxe set?
If not, unless the box is marked with a serial number I don't see the big deal with it being a different system. If there is a known range, I would like to know it, so I can see if I have the original system from my Deluxe set.
Personally, unless there is a range, I think it's a good idea to piece together the nicest looking stuff you can find. As long as it's a match to what was originally in there.
That's my main beef with a lot of "CIB" systems you find. They are just a mix of randomly sourced components and not the original items.
so are a lot of the "CIB" games out there. I don't care for the randomly pieced together versions of either.
