NintendoAge 2011 Weekly Contest Presents: Bump n' Jump
Hey everyone. This week's game is going to be Bump n' Jump. Here are the rules:

- Participation: 10,000
The contest ends Sunday, 6/19/11 at 10 PM NA time. Your user name must be in the picture for your score to be valid. The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. Also, for those who haven't seen it yet, there is now a list of upcoming contest games in the 2011 Weekly Contest Leaderboard thread. It is contained within the 4th post in that thread. One of those games will be chosen at random on Sunday night for the next contest. Rules for the games on the list will be posted when the game is chosen. Check the list often as new games will be added.

Yes, Bump 'n' jump is wicked hard. And we know we're exaggerating with the 1-life rule on this title. We wanted a short and sweet game for this week.

Cool, Bump N' Jump i couldn't pass this up.
It's hard to avoid crashing into other cars in this version.
Gave this game a few hours, so far my best score (first time reaching stage 6 on one life and totally forgot about the split roads):

Hahaha...that's funny. I can relate though. Don't know how many times I pressed reset with a curse word or few. Especially once I found that I could get 5000 points landing on island grass, so much of my time was spent on trying to perfect that, that I'd be hitting reset like every half minute or less much of the time until I finally was able to land on every island to the goal and sometimes landing on that too, with me averaging upper 30000 to lower 40000 points just in the first stage alone now. I refuse to do less, one mess up, one miss and hit reset and try again til I get it right.
Do you guys get the 5000 bonus each time you land on the island? I seem to only get it like half the time.
Yeah, this game is pretty frustrating with one life. Seems like every time I get a good run going, I end up with a cheap death (like getting bumped into a wall or missing a jump by just a little bit).
I have been trying to get a decent score on this for the past hour. It's like when I try not to die I die and when I just don't care I die to

With the islands, guys, if you want the 5000 points you gotta touch down on the grassy parts. Best way to do it is to land on the larger ones with the bit of road on 'em, get yourself set up so that you are just a tad right of the white dotted line on the road before making the jumps, that way no adjustments have to be made except for speeding up or down so you don't miss. I don't even attempt landing on the bridges in stage 2, way too hard to pull off, only time I get any of those is accidental.
I did that 50,000 pnt. trick on the first level. Not an easy task.
