Problems viewing 3D on the 3DS

I was able to ask one other person with terrible vision if they had the same problem and they did.  Whenever something is supposed to be displayed as farther away it just splits up in to 3 images no matter the distance from my face or viewing angle.  One of the worst examples of this is on the E3 Zelda trailer downloaded from the 3DS store.  Can anyone else confirm if they have the same problems or is it just me?  If you could check out the video at 55 seconds in that would be awesome.

  • The downloadable OoT 3DS trailer from the E-Shop channel is waaaaaaaaaay too strong. I and a few of my friends agree that the images started to split and that they hurt our eyes. The Star Fox 64 3D trailer is much more tolerable.

I personally keep the 3D slider almost all the way down, even at the lowest setting the 3D mode is a big change from 3D being completely off. Having it cranked all the way up makes my eyes feel like they're crossing .

PS: One thing to keep in mind is that 3D trailers and photos on the 3DS do not have slider support. The 3D is either full blast or it's off.
  • Thanks for the response

I just dled the Star Fox trailer and you are right it is a huge improvement. I always ran the slider all the way up because I never had any eye strain at all but playing around with it helped immensely with image splitting. It is still always there no matter what the 3D setting though. I really just wanted someone to confirm they experienced image splitting as well. Still kind of sad that a 16 year old Virtual Boy doesn't have this problem but a brand new console and a $3000 hdtv do lol.
  • I only tried a 3DS once, but I had to put the 3D effect at "medium". When playing games with a lot of depth, I would start seeing double images. Not everyone can handle full 3D I suppose...
  • I personally have to keep the slider nearly all the way up but everyone else I know has to put it way down. On the OoT trailer I actually had to turn it way down though.
  • I tried it out in the store, and I couldn't use the 3-D for more than a few seconds. It hurt my eyes way too much, even on a low setting. And it wasn't even worth hurting my eyes over! It seems gimmicky and won't actually hold up over time.
