Weird games that you like

When you've played as many games as you have, you're bound to come across a weird one. Whether it be outlandish, random, or whatever else you consider "weird", we're all bound to find a common ground.

I love the Katamari series. You're basically rolling over everything. There's weird visuals, wacky things happening, and the cover alone of any game in the series is weird. Look at the cover of Katamari Damacy. There's a huge ball of garbage, a rainbow, and two cows. It's a wonder how this series became popular.

So, cough it up, furball.

  • I like the Pinobee games. Everyone else seems to hate them. Maybe it's just cause I played them as a kid.
  • I had a blast playing Cubivore for the GameCube. It's quite an odd little game
  • I love all the games listed so far. I'll toss in Parodius as being weirdly awesome.

Also, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. Even for someone familiar with Japanese culture and folklore, this game can be just plain nutty. (Can only speak for this one in the series, haven't played others.)
  • Earthbound is pretty out there sometimes. I'd throw that one in there, there really is no other RPG out there like it. Oh, Rez and Psychonauts are pretty strange. Rez is really hard to describe and I can't think of any shooter out there like it.
  • I like Space Shuttle Project, an often over looked title on NES!
  • Totally agree with Psychonauts. The whole premise was ingenious, well developed, crazy, and super fun. Overall, a great title.

I spent a lot of time with Goemon's Great Adventure, and I'd agree with Berserker, the Goemon stuff I've played is far out there. Weird weapons, strange characters, very unique enemy design, and then there are the crazy robot battles.

Definitely.  Cubivore was a great game.  I also like Doshin the Giant for the Cube too even though it's an import.

This! That is a fantastic game!
  • Cho Aniki Series are quite a bunch of weird games, maybe too weird sometimes, google it for yourselves, but it's quite NSFW.

Muscle March for the Wii Ware is a treat too, muscle man running in speedos.

LSD for the PSX is quite a trip , some sort of dream simulator.

Killer 7 for the gamecube was the last "slow" Suda 51 game, it's completly crazy.

  • Agree with SamSpade and Item90. Psychonauts is awesome, and the only reason why I'm holding on to my original Xbox.
  • I'd have to say Earthworm Jim is about as weird a game as I've ever played and I love the series. I Give toe Jam and Earl panic at funkatron a high weird and awesome rating as well.
  • EDIT: Good old double post.
  • can't really think of any modern games, but i know back in the day, the simpsons v. the space mutants was a very odd game and still lots of fun to play on the genesis.
  • In my opinion Zombies ate my Neighbors was a bit weird, but fun too.
  • earthbound and uniracers!

Uniracers for suuuuure!!! Strobes,Killer Music,Stunts + Racing, plus saveable names, and saved race scores = totally radical!!!!!!
  • Moraff's Dungeons of the Unforgiven, man.
  • Pokemon Snap! Haha, as weird and kiddish as it is, it was fun to play through once!

Yeah! Pokémon snap kicks ass! The Wii U would be the perfect system to remake it on
  • Does M.U.L.E. on the NES count? I know it has a minor following, but... it's weird.

Agreed! That game was so fun! Along with CBFD. Everyone likes Conkers!  As for more weird games, I can't think of any "weird" games I like besides that.
  • My vote goes for "Boy and his Blob"... I strangely liked that game as a kid.. Very strange, feeding jelly beans to a blob..
  • i liked boogerman, if was a fun game, you let him stand still for a minute he starts doing weird shit.
  • I'd go with Blast Corps as a game not yet mentioned. I don't think I've ever played another game like it, and it's always slept on in the N64 library. Who doesn't like blowing stuff up?
  • Sacrifice. Sadly I never experimented much in my console days. Lots of mainstream play. Does Jet Grind Radio on Dreamcast count as weird?
  • I always liked Chibi Robo on the Gamecube for some reason
  • Nights into dreams on sega saturn is a pretty weird game....I don't even understand it sometimes...

    BLAST CORPS rocks!

Rez is basically Panzer Dragoon with badass flashy lights and sound effects based on what you blow up on screen.

    Other oddities I loved

    Mr Mosquito
    Katamari Damacy
    Incredible Crisis

any many others I can't think of this moment.
  • I love Maniac Mansion, any game where you can microwave a hamster is pretty out there.
