That's some serious awesomeness, Dain. Words can't express how simply outstanding and menacing that looks--something for everyone to admire and at the same time prevent most nearly every collector from ever venturing into GB. I can't wait to grow my GB collection. Oh, and screw you for getting me hooked!

    Muahahahahhahaha!!!!

  • You are way too organized, sir.

Looks sexy though. I love it.
  • And that is allllllllot of games. Alphabetized too?
  • That is soooooo sexy. One day I will have a complete set (140 or so to go!!!)

    Congrats!!!!
  • so awesome
  • That's a very impressive feat and sight! Congrats!

    .
  • awesome!!!

    It looks amazing!

also this is my 100th post.
  • Congrats Dain!! How long is that wall that it's on?
  • This is sooooooooooooooooo awesome. One of the coolest collections I ever saw!
  • mother of god. i didnt know there was that many GB game made. i bet alot of these were a bitch to find in good condition.
  • Awesome collection! I think this is the first complete Gameboy collection I've seen. Most people seem to go for NES or N64. Did you decide which system you're focusing on next? I'd love to see a complete Gameboy Color collection, but SNES would be awesome too. Is anybody known to have a complete Gameboy Color collection? It doesn't seem to be one that people focus on too much. Man, once you have GB, GBC, SNES, and N64 all complete, that would just be insane!
  • Short term memory loss ....
  • That is an insane collection. So jealous...
  • That's insane! how many games in the GB library? Now you could go GBC! I can't wait to reach that point with my PS1 collection!
  • Congrats on the set, I've just started buying CIB, looking at this I've got a LLLLOOONNNGGGG journey ahead!

    Great stuff mate.
  • i cannot even think about how much money that would cost
  • Congrats Dain..... 2 years later??
  • Congrats!!! So what Next?
  • Whoa, epic bump! Every time I see this, it makes me want to start a CIB gameboy collection. I feel like I'm missing out, that set up looks beautiful.

I'm pretty sure He made a thread like this for Gameboy Color too. That it he said somewhere that he wasn't too far off. Either way, this shit is nuts. Look at that game room. So many games an it's all so clean. I've seen epic game rooms before but they usually look pretty chaotic.
  • This thread, as well as RPGCollector's finds thread, are two of the main reasons I got into GB CIB collecting. I hope I can have a thread like this in the next year or so myself.

GB CIB hunting is brutal but so rewarding at the same time!
  • Talk about something a long time coming. That's the kind of package you open whilst enjoying a good glass of scotch.

e: apparently I'm an idiot and missed this thread a year ago when it came up.

e#2: make that two years ago... damn.
  • I can't tell you how happy I am to be done with Gameboy, but at the same time, I miss the challenge. There's still a small set of variants I'm missing, but I've been closing in on a complete set + variants set (now THAT is HARD!).

  • That display on the first page is INSANE! Is that recessed into the wall?!

Either way, MASSIVE congrats on completing this beast of a collection, man!

You can, just take your time and don't get too caught up in the frenzy of prices. Gameboy is still one of the platforms that  some harder-to-find games can be had for very little if you're patient and persistent. The last 20 or so games will cost you an arm and a leg though!

Do you have any tips on how to find the rarer items?

Most collectors say to scan ebay several times a day everyday till you find the item, is this right?

with my current gameboy collection i have some pretty well known titles like pokemon red, blue, silver, gold, crystal and pokemon yellow, and i also have donkeykong land, donkey kong, super mario land.

With the games i have, ive been searching for the boxes and manuals for them, as i only have the plastic cases for the games, but finding the boxes seems to be an expensive task with kirbys dreamland CIB going for $30 and the pokemon games are expensive alone let alone Just the box or complete.

Any help from you would be appreciated

  • You definitely need to scan daily or multiple times daily, but also be sure to checking ebay.co.uk and some of the European ebay sites as well. Just know that round seals = non-US, oval seals = US releases. That's where I found Spud's Adventure... and I got it for a lot less than I thought I would.
  • With spuds adventure being a rare game and all does it also have a good story line?
  • Holy smokes I can't believe its been nearly 2 years since you finished your set. I'm still 13 away. Half the ones I'm missing I've never seen, and the other half I'm kicking myself for not buying when I did see them.
