PDXSonic's latest finds

I have managed to find through the years some decent stuff, so I'd figure I'd show off what I've found recently, and maybe (more like hopefully) keep track of it here on NA.

My most recent grabs (which I managed to not take pictures of) were a PC copy of Metal Gear Soild (Jewel Case only) for $2, and a prototype Xbox 1 (which was made 2 years after it came out) for $15. Both were found along with some misc Dreamcast stuff at a Salvation Army family store when I was up in Seattle.

My greatest find so far in my short time searching Goodwills/Thrift Stores etc is this however... I found all these games in box (most complete but in rough shape) for a grand total of $65 (5 each).

Dragon Warrior 1-4
Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Lufia
Starfox
Paladin's Quest
Ogre Battle
FFII
and Back to the Future (NES)

  • Wow those Dragon Warriors and Chrono Trigger are beautiful. You made out very well, congrats!
  • Thanks!

So far I have parted ways with most of these games, but it has allowed me (among many other things) to add to my Dreamcast collection (including a sealed Giga Wing 2, which is at the top of my collection so far).
  • Dragon warriors don't look to rough box wise. Good job finding this stuff. Nice price too.
  • Very nice finds!
  • VERY sweet finds!
  • wow congrats!! awesome finds!
  • Very, very nice.

Looks like someone got rid of an awesome RPG collection.. and Back the Fututre (lol).
  • Dude $5 bucks a pop? Nice and now I'm green with envy
  • Hell of a grab at those prices, congrats!
  • Those are some awesome games to find for a steal! Now you've already got some tough ones out of the way, and virtually for nothing!
  • Did you find these at one Goodwill or multiple goodwills?
  • These were all found on a single day at the closest Goodwill to me. I go there a few times a week, and more often than not I don't find any old games at all, and I managed to have the best timing possible one day. They were all just sitting there stacked up. Thankfully I had $65 in my bank account (although I would have put them on hold and would have begged anyone to give me some money) and purchased them. The checker that was there made some small mention of them (like "Oh cool, some old games").

Safe to say, I was freaking ecstatic! Although since my current focus is on the Dreamcast I have since traded away most of the games for considerably more than $65.
  • Thanks for Dragon Warriors Hope you enjoy that new sealed Giga Wing 2!

I also hope you don't decide you want to start collecting SNES, cuz... you're not gonna want to buy Chrono or Mana for more than $5 CIB >.<
  • Well I've already managed to pick up a few more good deals. This time for music soundtracks. I managed to find the official Final Fantasy 3 (DS) soundtrack for $8, as well as the US FF IX "Best Selection" soundtrack (also for $8).

@Danny, The sealed Giga Wing 2 looks nice on the new bookshelf I bought.

Woot, a literal Goodwill Bargain bin find. These games are FS/FT, the Forza 2 License plate however is not.
  • Okay this might not be a super great "deal" but I'm happy to get it anyway. Its a TurboGrafx rental case, plus several complete TG16 games (Neutopia, Time Cruise, Legendary Axe, and Jackie Chan's Action Kung-Fu

  • PDXSonic,

Dude, do you get most of these items form Goodwill's, or other local thrift stores? I work out in Woodburn, right behind the GW there, they price their SNES games at $7.99. Games like Mario go for $14.99. I live in Salem, they post their 64 systems for 30-40 each. Redic.
  • I get most of these things from Goodwill's up in Portland/Beaverton area. Its really few and far between now days since they've started to raise prices big time (PS2/Xbox systems have gone from 10-15 to 25-30, games from 2-5 to 5-10). I sued to be able to snag a few good games from Goodwill's a week... now its maybe a handful of games a month (usually at the same time like the Amiga stuff).

However, the TurboGrafx case/games came from Game Trader up in Beaverton so I paid a lot closer to market value on this stuff.
