Don't take my word for it but after you put the code in I think it asks if you want to download from the code. This usually happens when you redeem codes in your Xbox 360.
Input it on your 360 not online. When imputing it on the 360 you have the option to redeem or not.
Online will automaticaly redeem the code.
Of course you can also call 18004MYXBOX and they can confirm the validity for you too.
Well, I called XBOX and they gave me the number to Activision. I spoke with them and that guy said that even if you do not activate it right then, the code is locked to that particular system. He said I could give the code and wait 2-3 days and I asked to do that, but he said it was much easier to get a game tag and check or something. I chose to take the survey at the end and ripped him. He sucked.
Unless it changed recently, I always did it online. You input the code on xbox.com and it will tell you what the code was for and if you'd like to redeem it now. If it's no good, it will tell you. Just don't redeem it and you're fine.
