CIB Earthbound - 50% of the proceeds go to Campout 2012
in NA Auctions
Alright lets crank this up a notch!!
So recently I worked out a trade with good ol' Skulldeath for a certain Ecstasy of Order, Tetris NES auction that ended not so long ago...
Part of the terms of the deal would be that my CIB Earthbound would go up for auction with 50% of the proceeds going to the 2012 campout. So here it is, have at it!!
RULES:
- Upon completion 50% goes to the campout, 50% to Skulldeath9000.
- The auction ends Friday July 15th, 10:30pm NA time. There are no extensions
- All bids must be made public in this thread, no PM'd bids will be accepted
- Bidding starts at $50 . Minimum bid increments of $1
- Shipping included in your bid for US bidders. By popular demand I will ship to any and all Canadian buyers via FedEx or UPS with delivery and signature confirmation paid by the buyer. No longer requiring a minimum feedback total.
Thanks, and good luck!

The cart is in excellent shape. The box is very nice with just a little wear. The guide isn't the best, but it is complete with the scratch and sniff cards. Has the box insert and unique Nintendo Power card.
Let me know if you have any questions or need more pics. Fire away!!

I don't understand the prejudice against Canadian buyers. This is the second time today I have seen a minimum feedback requirement for people in Canada. Proof of payment and delivery is identical for both USA and Canada. It's not like shipping to Italy or something.
I think the rule makes perfect sense if he intended to send it to a Canadian buyer via International First Class, which would cost considerably less than Priority (a few dollars versus $30 or so) and save the buyer some money. If he did that, he would lose the ability to win a dispute if the buyer says "hey I didn't get this", since you don't get delivery confirmation on First Class parcels - so he is only willing to send it to a Canadian buyer with a good established reputation.
Nice item B.A., great to see some good bids for a great cause guys. Laserman81, if you wanted to list your common NES carts up with 50% of the proceeds going to CO 2012, I am sure you could sell them for some high prices
This is a nice looking cart...but, I am so DAMN picky with condition. I may never get a CIB Earthbound that meets my specs! Good luck on the sale! Peace

Yes this is the exact reason for the feedback requirement for shipment to Canada, there is no prejudice. Proof of delivery is certainly not identical, the only way for me to get delivery confirmation on an international shipment is to send it express mail which costs a fortune, I cannot get delivery confirmation with regular priority international.
Therefor I am left with charging the buyer like $40 for shipping or having zero recourse if they decide to tell me they never received the package and do a paypal charge back. I am not willing to take that risk on an item this expensive.
Oh yeah, and I hate Canadians...

Brian, just so you know you can get DC on the Priority Mail "flat rate" boxes, but they start at $30 for a medium and like $50 or something insane for a large. Free bump, I am also an officer of the Canadian hate squad!
I think that needs an icon.

I am indeed thinking of "international" priority, as you know Canada is a different nation...Plus when you go onto the USPS website to calculate postage, you pick international for Canada, as you would for any other destination outside of the U.S.
I called the USPS today to ask if I could get delivery confirmation on a Priority Mail package to Canada, I was told I could not. Granted the person who I talked to did not sound very smart and had to look everything up, so she very easily could have been incorrect.
But I will tell you what, I can get delivery and signature confirmation for delivery to Canada if I ship FedEx or UPS. So I will go ahead and do that if anyone in Canada wants to bid and pay full shipping.
As far as the guide condition, it is indeed in the poorest shape of the components included, but still complete and in decent shape. Luckily for any interested parties, the guide is the easiest and cheapest piece to find loose. A person could easily sell this guide and get an upgrade for little to no net cash increase if they were so inclined.
SO LET THE TIDAL WAVE OF CANADIAN BIDDERS WHO HAVE BOUGHT LITTLE TO NOTHING IN THE PAST COMMENCE!!!!!
This is incorrect. Priority mail to Canada does have delivery confirmation, exactly the same as priority mail to the US. You do not have to use express mail. Priority mail to Canada for this item would cost $24-27 at most.
You can only get DC on Priority Mail to Canada if you ship in a flat rate box. Otherwise its express mail or no proof of delivery. You are close in price, I think it's $28.50 for a medium flat rate box to Canada. That said, the person running the auction can do whatever they want! Thanks for letting everyone know that you have no interest in this item -- however I am sure, like others, that this will go up into the thousands and perhaps millions now that Canadians are all over it
