Huge Paper and SNES Score

Picked up two different lots today first off a SNES score including 16 complete games in mint condition including Super Adventure Island 2, Kirby Superstar, a couple of DKC's and others. This lot also came with 26 other loose carts with manuals including SMB RPG, Kirby Dreamland 3, and two storage cases and a SNES.

Next comes the paper score including the first 170 or so Nintendo powers in great shape complete with posters and cards.

Here are some various strategy guides, a couple of Fun Club News issues, and other various paper including a 1993 Funcoland price guide with Stadium Events listed at $59

This is a super power club official membership pack, lots of cool paper included.

There are also about 75 Game player magazines starting with issue 1, I don't know a lot about these but they are all NES/SNES era. Note the cover in the bottom right corner, Unlreleased California Raisins.

0

Also included were many game informer magazines including the early issues.

0

Boxes of Gamepro issues from way back (love the old Role Player Realm sections).

0

Now for some really good stuff. Games, manuals, and strategy guides for a number of games, including Ogre Battle, Lufia, Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Breath of Fire, and Final Fantasy III. He has the boxes in mint condition at his parents house and will be grabbing them for me the next time he goes home.

Nintendo Power Guides

0

He also included a large number of Electronic Entertainment issues and claims that they are worth some money. Anyone have any idea about them?

Lastly a full scope picture, each box is full of more magazines and guides. I can't wait to really start digging in and cataloging everything.

  • That is an awesome haul for sure! I hope you got all of this paper for very little "paper", if not, this is still a great haul, congrats man!
  • Wow! That's a ton of great stuff you got there. That's so much good reading there if you actually have the time, some of those Nintendo Powers are probably worth a good chunk of change too. All the games are solid titles and look REALLY minty. How much did you pay for each lot if don't mind me asking?
  • The first lot with the CIB games was $175 (she said that her son would kill her if he knew that she was selling his games) and the second lot was $300. I went for that one only knowing about the Nintendo Powers, started asking him questions about the games and walked out of there with everything for the price he wanted for just the nintendo powers. He did end up keeping his SNES, a Minty CIB Chrono Trigger with Guide, Mario Paint, Actraiser, and Super Mario World all for sentimental reasons.
  • Congrats, dude! Excellent prices...it's a shame you could't get your hands on that CIB Chrono + guide...I don't blame the guy though, that's exactly what I would keep if I had all that stuff too. You can now officially say you have one of the most badass magazine collections on NA
  • Yep, they all go along great with the other 300 guides that I have. Most of the SNES guides (including Lufia, Ogre Battle, and Final Fantasy III along with almost all of the games) are doubles and will be for sale eventually.
  • That's a lot of swag Jesse, that should keep you busy for a while. Enjoy man.
  • Wow, what a great haul. Great stuff Jesse!
  • very nice on both lots!
  • Excellent stuff, indeed...ridiculous, even. I dunno what I'd do (besides buying it, of course ) if I came across a deal like that second lot .
  • me wants the mike tyson nintendo news

I wonder if he will. Especially since she sold them for such a bargain price. And that is one awesome haul of gaming magazines. I still wonder what happened to all of the ones that I dropped off at a thrift shop early last year during a crisis. Someone probably made out like a bandit on those because seriously don't think the people I seen working there knew what the mags would go for.
  • Ridiculous amount of nice stuff, excellent find!
  • Oh my word, that's an awesome find!! The further I got in the pictures, the more amazed I got. This is a great find and I share your excitement with being able to dig in and get it all cataloged! Congrats!
  • ^ Haha, yeah, I just felt like the pictures kept coming and coming... Very nice!
  • Thanks for the congrats, after looking further into the Game Player magazines it appears that many of them go for around $20 each on ebay making them much more valuable then the Nintendo Powers.
  • *drooling* nice haul man !

I knew you would like it Acid! Now I need to make my own collection tool of literature.
  • This is a sweet score! Love me some paper.
  • I love the magazines... especially the Fun Club Newsletters... I really wish I had kept mine from childhood.
  • Man, I would love to have a complete set of the old Game Players. Jealous.
  •

My very first gaming magazines were 2 of the earliest issues of Game Players', they weren't very accurate with tips (but then I didn't need help with beating games even then) but were fun to look through them (and dream about games I didn't have yet), at least until I got Nintendo Power and other magazines several years after.

  • Holy hell!!! That is awesome!
  • Nice pickup. I had asked him to let me know if he would split up the storage container things and he said that everything was already gone! Glad it went to a good home.
