I'm going to get one of these games in the future. Although I'm not a huge shooter fan, I hear both of them are fun as hell. Which one of these would you choose and why?
I have always enjoyed both. If I could only have one though, I personally would choose Gun Nac because I enjoy vertical space shooters. It is very unique also. Both are good games though.
S.C.A.T. is multiplayer, so I'd go with that first, but yes Gun-Nac is amazing. Love the casino level. Level 3 on S.C.A.T will rape your brain. Just bite the bullet and get them both obviously!
I have never played S.C.A.T. so I can't say much for that one, but I've had Gun-Nac Since I was a kid and it is a fantastic game. This thread feels incomplete, though without Skulldeath coming in here to tell us what an overrated piece of crap it is.
My favorite shooter for the Famicom system is Crisis Force. Gun Nac is my second favorite. Both are very good vertical scrolling shooters. Gun Nac is just crazy fun and very enjoyable. I have never seen Gun Nac in the wild for the NES in my area. But for a long time it has been very hard to find anything that is cart based in my area.

Gun-nac is an amazing game, and one of my favorite 8-bit shooters.

I'd go for Gun Nac. It's bettter and Gun Nac is a R7. Scat R5. You may find an R5. You probably wont find gun nac in the wild.

Strange because I can say this too. I've came across like 4 Gun Nacs, and I think I've only seen S.C.A.T like once in the wild.
Edit: Oh yeah, my avatar is from this game also. Bit of a give away that I like it!
I personally don't like SCAT at all... but Gun+Nac is super fun.
Likewise. I never liked those Forgotten World type shooters myself.
I can't think of a more enjoyable 8-bit shooter than Gun+Nac. It's the cat's pajamas.
