STEAL STEAL!! I win finders keepers this week!

Wow today I strategically planned out some yard sales a good distance from my house to hit. Sure Glad I did. GREAT GREAT GREAT day of steals. I have 99% of the stuff I bought so this stuff is available! Ill let the pics do the talking.

First stop netted me this fantastic lot. All the stuff looks all but new (minus the game stop pre owneds). I also added in a DS mariokart game that was sitting on a table. I passed on some psp deals and the ps1 games that were sitting out werent anything notable. Also had a ps2 bundle they were really trying to sell but I couldnt find the value in it like I found in this stuff.

The second lot was both pictures. Mainly gamecube, but a wii speak was included (I dont know why) along with the ps1. The only ps1 game to come with was harvest moon! (Im keeping it, but i need the booklet). Some of the games didnt have books, and some are a little beat up. But I paid nickles on the dollar for this stuff. 2 Wavebird controllers, a mic and 2 bongos with the cube.

Again, yes everything except harvest moon is up for grabs, please do not litter this thread with purchase request though, just pm me. This thread is for the sole purpose of showing off todays pickups...which ran me a total of $70.

Comments

  • Nice pick ups! How much for the DK guide?
  • Nice. You can make back your money with the CIB N64 alone.
  • Solid pickups, nothing too rare but a ton of populars that will be an easy flip. And I've also never understood yard sales on Fridays...
  • Never understood the Friday Yard sale either. As you said nothing "rare" but lots of "value" and easy turnarounds.
  • Holy crap, amazing lot for $70! Easy flips for pretty much everything you picked up....if those N64 games are up for a good price I'll be all over that

    Congrats on the pickups, dude.
  • Nice stuff. Good thing you didn't stay home today.
  • At the moment I am missing 2 garage sales that were listed on c.l. that said they have "video game stuff" I will hit the ground running tomorrow morning.........NICE FINDS!!!!
  • Pretty solid find!

I had a garage sale for the first time ever a month or so ago and started it on Friday. I didnt think it would to that well but it smoked and we sold all of our big shit right away.
  • awsome find i love complete systems super sexy
  • Nice finds!
  • Awesome finds man!
  • Friday yard sales? whatever works! Nice scores.
  • Thanks everyone for the comments its WAS A great day. I just got home for golf and will be sorting through PM's....I have alot.

Kate came in and snagged some things up off me, the 64, DK, DK mag and Mario 64 are GONE. (Ill edit it out later up top)

Two last things,1. I had a member get butthurt already about an asking price. I have 7 transactions now in 10 days here...Im obviously making deals and selling at good prices. I really debated marking down what I paid for this stuff because I have most this....ok all of this stuff in my collection already. It doesnt matter what I paid if you want it, I will accept fair offers compared to market value. My asking prices are cheaper then the bay BUT REGARDLESS WHAT I PAID...I will not give stuff away, the remaining holes in my collections are PRICY and no one will give me deals on them, even if they got a deal on them.

    2. Only pm me if you want something this is the buy and sell forum

    Thanks all

  • I think its odd that you guys DONT go to yard sales on Friday. 99% of anything good is gone by noon on Friday. Its the ONLY day I will go. Hell, A LOT start on Thursdays, but not enough to warrant me going. Unless its a regional thing, I've almost never seen a garage sale that didnt start Thursday or Friday.

Whaaat? Thats sweet, I've only ever known for them to be held on Sat and Sun here in California
  • ^must be regional then...maybe it is because we can only have them 3 months out of the year, and it rains at least half of those weekends? I love going on Friday because its almost all old women out, so less competition!

Some advice to you since you're new.  Post the finders keepers thread after doing the selling.  If I find a $100 for $1 and post a thread about it, odds are that no one is going to offer me $100.  That's how it goes unless the item is stupid mint or stupid rare, then people will care less about what you paid.

But when talking about normal popular CIBs that sell for $20 or $25 all day long, many people are going to offer less because they know how much you have into it.  You'll get a few people to bite here and there... but to get eBay prices, you'll have to go there.

Appreciate the advice. I know how forums work. I owned a cardshop and was over 1000 feedback on two different sites on just selling cards, and it works the same way there. 8 transactions now over 11 days speaks a alot considering I dont see too many members over 20 feedback. Im hoping to have that many by the end of july. My prices are below ebays and as long as Im here selling Ill keep them below ebay. As for the peices I have alot of these items look opened an untouched thats how mint they are and im still below ebay.

I was saying more to the members who feel the need to lowball (there are surprisingly few). Like last night I was sent an offer for $100 for everything in the N64 photo and the two DK bongos Jungle beat 2 and mario party 6. Now......cmon lol.

  • nice find, we also have a lot of yard sales on friday, myself after 15 years of yard saleing. ive come to the conclusion, that around here, figuring in the price of gas and wear and tear on the car, and time spent driving all over the place, it is cheaper to buy from ebay.

but this was a pretty good haul.  did you just hit a few sales

  • Doug, I took alot different approach. We stopped at 3 yard sales total in a area about 1 hour 15 minutes away. We knew they had games we just didnt know exactly what was available. We got lucky in a sense but when yardsaleing doing the research goes a long way when looking for specifics.

For instance today I "freestyled" in a 10 mile radius....what do I have to show for it....$10 less in my gas tank, and $1 spent on a water. LOL.
