Heres a Gamexchange in Wichita falls i go there when i visit my grandparents 4208 Kemp Blvd, Wichita Falls, TX nice place average price and your missing a few in phoenix (where i live) i'll post then once i get the addresses
Just curious if someone on here happens to know who owns State Line Games in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts? I'm assuming the owner is on here... just a hunch I have.
Anyways I went way out of my Sunday loop to drive all the way there, (quite a drive for me), only to find out the owner is an SNES collector himself! Lol my fault for not calling ahead for sure... but yeah, don't go to that place if you're expecting to find any SNES items of interest besides carts priced right off Ebay. 40$ for Turtles in Time, 50$ for Mario RPG carts, etc.
Most of the stuff on their shelves seemed to be predominantly more "modern", (Wii, PSP, newer gen stuff)... with the most boxed retro games being Genesis.
The dude that was behind the counter was pretty cool, so they get points for that simple fact as lots of retro stores I've been in have had butt-hole's working behind the counter.
So let's get this straight:
U drove all the way from wherever you are, to EXPECT to see Boxed SNES Games FROM A COLLECTOR of SNES at HIS STORE??
THEN...you act as if the prices of SNES Carts are "right off eBay." Yet, you don't pay rent for a home, pay rent for a store, utilities on both, and deal with know-it-all assholes such as yourself coming into a place and looking to pay pennies on the dollar for valuable, collectible, retro games?!?
LMFAO at your stupidity.
Who the fuck ever told you to come to Stateline Video Games and expect to buy Boxed SNES Games anyway?? Who would even drive expecting to see Boxed/CIB anything without calling first?!?
But...like several others on here (not everyone, there are a few great people here), you then also expect to get valuable shit for pennies on the dollar?!? LMFAO.
And "don't expect to find anything of interest" translates for your cheap ass as "don't expect to be able to rip someone off, 'cause that's all I was planning to do...unsuccessfully."
P.S. I don't own the place, but I know the Owner. Thanks for shitting on a friend's livelihood with your bullshit "evaluation" and "review."
Instycash - Stoughton, WI (2125 McComb Rd Stoughton, WI 53589)- Pawn Store, but decent selection of used/vintage games. ($$) (Below to Average Prices, Spend around $90 there on 1st trip. (Operator's name is Matt, Seems like an ok guy)
The Spin Shack - Baraboo, WI ( 136 3rd St Baraboo, WI 53913)- Used Movies, Games, Records, Appears to hate sega, only Nintendo, Playstation, xbox, NES up to Current. Prices are cheap $5 for any SNES, Mario & DK64 $9 each, etc. If you in the area it is worth a stop
Media Warehous Reedsburg (36 E Main St Reedsburg, WI 53959) $$$ (I don't have anything else to add for this place, I won't go back there, but that is my personal experience.) My issues, nothing was priced, everything was looked up, pre playstation 2 items are all behind the counter, not visible, you can look at a computer listing of inventory that has not been updated in 5 years, and may not be accurate as he sells online too. This person could not have made it harder for me to buy something from his store.

First off... you need to relax and not be so defensive. I didn't "shit" on anything. Second off, trying to make me into the villain for speaking honestly about pricing makes you look the fool not vice versa. It'd only take a person a second who knows pricing to walk around that store (or any store) to see the prices are right off Ebay. So yeah, you can kiss my ass with that logic and YOUR stupidity.
Thirdly you tard... how would anyone know ahead of time the guy is a collector that owns the store? That's the point I was making: don't go there expecting to find anything remotely on the rare side for the SNES, (or even boxes or manuals), as the guy keeps it for himself. That was the only point I was making.
Get your head out of your ass. I appreciate you wanting to defend your friends store (I'd do the same), but attacking me isn't the best way to do it when I wasn't saying anything negative about the store... just speaking the truth and my experience related to it.
I did say the guy that was there seemed cool, and the place had plenty to offer... just not in the way of SNES. Reading comprehension not taught in Western Massachusetts?
Prices are terribly high and the games are ALL behind a counter.
I was in this Sunday evening and was the only one on the store.
I asked if I could come around the corner or not. Kid running the place said he couldn't. Fair enough, he is following his boss's rules.
He proceeds to hand me a book saying "This is what we 'may' have and some prices haven't been updated with eBay for 2 weeks"
I skimmed the book (very irritated) for the usual titles to gage how the store will prove things. I walked out when the book wanted $110 for Conker's Bad Fur Day and $43 for Castlvania Legacy of Darkness (N64).
I have at least a dozen classic/used game stores around me in South East Michigan / North East Ohio that keep all but the expensive /rare games on the floor for people to actually look at.

Not saying anything negative, huh??

WRONG on all accounts. You went there on a SUNDAY, when the Owner wasn't around, without calling, and expecting to go to a small-town in Western MA and come away with a score. Your posts on here prove time and time again you're just a re-seller. When you drove all the way from Waltham, you found out you weren't gonna get over on us in "tardville" Western MA.
See, the prices reflect market value, end-user. Not someone looking to get a "score" and then flip shit...just as your intentions are and were. And you have several posts just on here alone that prove this FACT. You want to find any "steals," go to a flea market and/or some tag sales and cross your fingers, you yuppie fuck.
Also, his rarer stuff is in the back: including Manuals, Boxes, SNES and NES Gems...but your assumptions are making you look more and more like a pompous asshole. It's hilarious. Should've called ahead there, oh great Nintendo genius from the Eastern part of the State!! Then you could've just arranged a meeting and even saw some rare things and possibly some Boxes and Manuals that you need...BUT, you wouldn't want to pay market value, so you more than likely still would've shit on the place.
Boo Hoo...I'm a know-it-all that jumps to conclusions and then shits on places when I don't get a steal!! That's exactly how you came off in the store, AND then ran home and posted it online, sounding exactly the same way.
That's all I'm gonna say about it on here. You wanna talk any further, let's arrange a meeting and you and I can talk in person. PM me, and let's meet up. I'd love to have a chat with you, Captain Waltham. Let's see if your uppidy ass can comprehend that, you shit talking pussy.
there's a Play N Trade in Austin that i visited this weekend. decent inventory of popular NES, SNES, and N64 carts. a few CIB genesis and saturn titles too.
i also visited Gamerz Galaxy in Austin. they are extremely cool people, and when i found a box for Halo:CE that wasnt a Game of the Year or Platinum Hits version, they let me look at every disc behind the counter to pick out the one that matched it before i bought it. the only gripe i have is that my receipt said "BOGOHO for August" but i didnt get half off of any of the SNES carts i bought from them
Haha, pretty much what I was getting from his tantrums as well.
For the record Solo4134: I don't participate in e-sport forum thuggery or feeding trolls... I'm too old for it and my time is too valuable to spend replying to you. My recommendation to relax is still in effect though; maybe put on some old jazz records while playing your NES or something? Killing goombas to the smooth sound of a piano + sax medley may just be what will help you unwind.

Lol. Love the internet tough guy act.
Calm.
Down.
Edit: And while im here. Videogamex, store in Huntington Beach CA. Stopped in just browsing while waiting for some food.
Owner seemed nice enough but some of his prices are vastly inflated. The one that comes to mind was contra 3 for $60
Ok I would review the Time Travellers Store in Berkley MI but I would seriously say I found some scores there. BTW to the people that said they were out of gmes it because they realized they sold me Dusty Diamonds all star Softball for 2.95 and Uncharted Waters for 3.95 nd kickmaster for 5.00 and were probably going through them because thats about the time I found those gems and last action hero for 6.95. The owner is nice at times and must be stressed because sometimes he is rude. Ive seen him be rude toothers so it is not just me lol.
Stateline Games might be a great store, but after reading Solo's over the top, almost psychotic posts, I wouldn't be caught dead in there. You're giving your friend a bad name by acting like that.
From a recent trip, I've found that the Play N' Trade in Columbus, Georgia is dead. Completely dead, thank God. They were total scammers, and they deserved it.
I've also found a place in Laurens, South Carolina. I personally haven't been there myself, but there is a Craigslist post
You can add some $$$'s, or even $$$$ next to "The Score". Went by today. If you thought their prices were high before the selloff/takeover? go check them out now. $64 for Smash Bros Melee, $54 for Pokemon Blue loose, $700 for Super Star Fox weekend? Guy told me SFSW price was $800 on ebay, I told him he shouldn't believe all the "Buy It Now" listings, he told me that was the current bid price. Sorry man, I looked, it's all "Buy It Now"'s, not bids. (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=star+fox+super+weekend&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=star+fox+super+weekend&_sacat=0)
This was just a sampling of the many jaw dropping numbers I saw. Needless to say, I walked out with nothing this trip, and will not return for quite a while. You can always tell how bad a store is run when the current price of a used game exceeds the selling price of a new one (e.g. Used copy of Game and Wario WiiU was listed $42, new at Target, Walmart, Bestbuy, etc is $39.99)
Stateline Games might be a great store, but after reading Solo's over the top, almost psychotic posts, I wouldn't be caught dead in there. You're giving your friend a bad name by acting like that.
Agreed. I understand he is your friend but posting stuff like that just creates negative by association feelings.
Well we might as well keep up the trend here of overpriced stores: I checked out Capital Games and Ultimate Video Game Connection in Columbus OH recently.
Capital Games:
The prices are INSANE. I'm talking like 30%-40% above ebay prices. Not to mention that the people working in the store have no idea where anything is, what anything costs, what they have in stock, etc. There were like 5 guys in there asking questions about different items and there's ONE guy working trying to talk to them all at once and he just keeps saying "well uh....the owner would know but uhhhh I don't know anything about it, and uhhhh the owner isn't here" Meanwhile this guy is trying to call the owner on the phone and of course he won't answer....it was just a mess! I felt bad for him. On top of all that, there is just crap piled EVERYWHERE. It looks like someone just came in and dumped thousand and thousands of carts all over the place. Of course not one damn thing was priced so you have to continuously ask the one clerk for the price on everything only to hear "oh uh Spy Hunter for NES? Lets see......uh, thats $12" A complete waste of time
Ultimate Video Game Connection:
Pretty much the same thing, only ALL the pre-current gen games aren't even out, they are way in the back where you can't see them. You have to just ask over and over and over again for games and prices. "do you have this game?" "let me look that up" *wait 5 minutes* "what about this game?" "let me look that up" *wait 5 minutes* Its a total pain in the ass to even go in there and once again, the prices are insane.
I don't understand how places like this even stay in business. Who in their right mind says to themselves "I want to pay 30% more than I would on ebay AND deal with the most unorganized and aggravating place on earth"?! I can't see either one of these places staying around for too long. At Capital Games, I asked if they had a particular rare system I was looking for, they said they have a few of them actually but they don't know where there are at in the store, and that once again, they would have to call the owner and have him "find" them...which of course the owner would not pick up his phone when they called. Its almost like they don't WANT to make any money. They pretty much turned me away because their store was such a damn mess that they would rather lose a $100+ sale than have to dig through mountains of crap to find something for me.
Well, with all that commentary on Stateline Videogames, I feel like I should add another point of view. It is a VERY long drive for someone that doesn't live in the Western part of the state, and while I would consider it average inventory wise (from what was displayed), the store does have superior customer service as a buddy of mine and I arrived there ten minutes after his closing time and he still let us in to shop when we told him we drove some distance. Having said that, while it is a good store to pop into when in the area, I don't think I would make a special trip unless I was in the area for some reason.
Hello everyone, I hope that all is well. On my way back from Jacksonville I found a great store that should be added to the list and unfortunately one that should be deleted:
Video Game Trader 1270 Saxson Blvd, Orange City, FL, 32763. Large variety, all consoles, prices are reasonable. Apparently they have an additional location at:
4649 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. Unit 606, Port Orange, FL, 32129 (386)756-7950
Play N' Trade in Lake Mary, Florida is closed.
I just wanted to thank everyone that was/has been involved in creating this list, when I travel I always use it to look for NES games.
Remember when I posted about the Game Trader in Johnson City? Turns out it was just "Video Trading Company" under new management/new name.
Kinda/sorta. The VTC moved downtown near the ETSU campus and the "game traders" is the son of the owner of the building that the VTC used to be at. The owner of the building is letting his son and his friend start a small business that just so happens to be video games. It is 2 totally different stores. The info came from Paul (the owner of the "game traders")

10-4. Paul needs to work his butt off at getting some more inventory then. Stopped by G2K Games in Johnson City today, they have some halfway decent prices (Still listed Xenoblade Chronicles for $60).

When it comes to East-TN I like G2K in Johnson city and Playmore in Greenville. I have always gotten great deals and service at both. But yea I agree Paul needs more inventory aswell as an ability to display said inventory other than stacking games up on the 1 shelf he has. I hope he and his friend can get it going.
sorry not being an addition, but you can add '$$$' to the rumors for video games new york in NYC... $10 genesis sports titles. only thing worth buying there is 3rd party controllers for various systems for like $5. Definitely cool to go to (almost museum like), but i didnt buy anything. (I wasn't looking for deal prices, but i also wasn't looking to be raped)
Having said that, while it is a good store to pop into when in the area, I don't think I would make a special trip unless I was in the area for some reason.
Which was my point exactly on the matter, yet somehow I was "attacking" the place. If I lived down the street or even 30 minutes away I'd pop in from time to time if I wasn't an SNES guy, (because again, the owner collects SNES so you're getting his scraps in the store)... but other then that, us Eastern Massachusetts guys have to live with the 3-4 stores we have.

Most of the stuff on their shelves seemed to be predominantly more "modern", (Wii, PSP, newer gen stuff)... with the most boxed retro games being Genesis.

I'm not gonna "relax" on anything at all when you're insulting my friend and potentially taking food off the table for him and his baby girl you piece of shit.

In summation, "If you don't like State Line Games, then you're a shit talking pussy"
That's a pretty nice slogan. Reminds me of this lovely ad:
i also visited Gamerz Galaxy in Austin. they are extremely cool people, and when i found a box for Halo:CE that wasnt a Game of the Year or Platinum Hits version, they let me look at every disc behind the counter to pick out the one that matched it before i bought it. the only gripe i have is that my receipt said "BOGOHO for August" but i didnt get half off of any of the SNES carts i bought from them

The one that comes to mind was contra 3 for $60
A few things at retail prices.

How are they, price wise?
I've also found a place in Laurens, South Carolina. I personally haven't been there myself, but there is a Craigslist post
http://greenville.craigslist.org/vgd/4017010298.html
From what I can tell, they seem a little on the pricey side...

And sadly of those, only 2-3 are worth a damn.
